Hello fellow Acura owners. I'm having a problem with my 2004 Acura TL 6 speed. Stock other than Injen intake. So the car runs and drives good. car revs up to the limiter just fine. 7k+ rpms. But when driving, the car seems to be limited at 5500 rpms, as if the rev limiter was set there. Once you let off the gas, and go on it again, it limits the car again but now at 3500 rpms. For that to stop, I have to turn off the car. But it still limits at 5500 rpms when flooring it. Wondering if anyone has had this problem or know what it could possibly be. Thanks in advance.

 

have you checked your oil level?

 

Yep, I have, and oil level is good. Done two oil changes under my ownership. But did it even before. Previous owner did not tell me of that problem.

 

Can you use the cruise control to exceed those RPM limits?
