06 Auto Neutral safety switch/ trans range position sensor alignment problem

Hello all, It's during the corona Covid-19 quarantine time that I am working on my 3G TL again it's an 06 Automatic. Problem is the neutral safety switch/ trps going out and I cant seem to align it right even when using the old Neutral safety switch as a reference. The sensor is behind the front left side wheel. I took the old crusty one off went to autozone and got a duralast neutral safety switch. Installed it and the car starts up.

I found out in this link https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...switch-892223/

that I should start the car in neutral before starting it in park and see if the PRND box on the dash/speedometer lights up. It doesn't light up. Any other tips on how to align it right and get the PRND box to light up?? Any help appreciated.

I you have the car in park the indicator should point at 7-8 o'clock, if you leave in Neutral then the indicator should be at 9 o'clock level with the line on the sensor.

hi,

I'm attaching the SM pages. They have directions on how to align the switch.
