Well thank you for that, Austin. I appreciate it.

Thanks Chad.
I know what you mean. On one hand, girls are so nice and curvy but also so moody and complain a lot. A man though, big and burly and comforting. The hair can get in the way but I do understand what you mean...sometimes you just want to feel safe and be held by someone bigger and stronger. Tough call!

Oh. I'd give J a hug. Maybe slip him the tip too. Different area codes... ya feel me?

I meant the heads. I guess I'm not really a fan of the amber light in clear headlights. It always looks off to me. Basically, I guess I'm not a switchback kind of guy.

I also think the blacked out looks much better. But I understand why you want to keep them stockish.

I will say that I think you're car looks much better without the teal/blue projector ring. I actually think with the clear setup, on your car, all black would look nice. The painted ring just draws the eye in. And with the cleared look it's best to 'view' the headlights as a whole. Know what I mean?

I'd let you too, you can be handsome without that creepy mustache.
I agree on some levels with what you're saying, I guess I was just looking for a change from the all blacked out look. I like how the chrome helps with light reflection in addition to delineating the nice shape of the headlight...you lose that when you black out.

I'm not sure I follow your comment though, you don't like the amber, but don't like switchbacks? Do you just mean LED bulbs in general? I actually got a killer deal on a set of switchbacks I had to give a shot, they're supposedly a nice 5K white that'll match the CBI so I figured I'd give them a whirl.

Great new shots J. IMO, I like the blacked headlights better tho, I've just never been into clear headlights. I will say this though, which surprises me: the amber turn signal LEDs look really nice.

Gotta work on yours one of these days...
Thanks, random as heck, those are some hoops that they literally installed in the middle of a parking lot!

No, what are your thoughts?!?
Thanks buddy! Thank you very much...I love them too, clean and clear lenses are fantastic.
Hmmm...no, but without the other engine covers it was TOO out of place under the hood, so I just did the other black cover I had.

Point me in the direction of your custom cold air intake please!

Awwwww shietttt...it was the teal throwing off the look, right? Honestly, man...there's no way for me to truly depict how the amber snake eyes look in person. Even ON with the CBI next to them, they look absolutely stunning. Thank you!

PS...with the amber on the corner, I actually decided to pull the USR sidemarkers for now. Plus, last week, I was on the highway and heard a thap thap thap noise and thought it was my caliper cover come loose...NOPE, one of my sidemarkers was flapping in the wind. LOL.
I soldered and cleaned up the wiring...I also will put a quick connect on the end of the sidemarker wire at the hole so I can easily swap sidemarkers. I tried to resurrect my old relay mod on the oem ambers sides but I think the resistor on the led board affected it...when the parking lights were on, the sidemkarers wouldn't signal well enough to see. Oh well.

Kurt, I agree to a certain degree...sometimes I love the blacked out, sometimes I'd see others with the clear and love it...I ALWAYS hated the chrome being visible on the outer edge, which is why I spent the money on type s diffuser and black vinyl corners. I'm sure one day down the line I'll take some time to lose the teal in the other headlights and fix them up again.

In the meantime...c'mon man!!!!

Thanks Tyler. I'm not even going to get started on how disappointed I am that you and the Mitz aren't going to be at the wedding.

Seriously, that means a lot coming from you. I appreciate it. I look at old pictures of her and I'm like, wow, I thought THAT was nice!?! LOL...funny the progression.

PS, any of you lighting gurus know if I have this set right. The step shields really confuze me on how to set them...
25 feet from a wall, right? Then 30 inches to the height of each beam?
Is that right?
AND, how to you align one with the other? Should the driver one line up with the passenger one? or with steps you just set each peak at the same height?

Thanks!

Your drivers side is a bit off.

If they are already sealed up though not much you can do. Tweak the bulb a bit...

But it appears to be off axis which, someone correct me if I'm wrong, is a lens tweak.

I'm upset that we won't be able to make it either There were 3 weekends that she would possibly be in training and of course she gets drafted into the conference on THAT weekend. Even though we aren't going, I paid for our dinner plates since we said we were going on the RSVP.

Even though my axles are shot, I can't see my car being any higher than it currently is. I'm glad I got the coils and I'm thankful that you picked them up for me! It's crazy how much stuff can change with time, a little money, and some effort.

Where did you buy the Type-S diffusers? I've hated my headlights for quite a while.

Hahaha ok they are the best tails I've ever seen on your car. Keep them

I wouldn't use the engine covers if I lived in FL too
Not using them in Boston as well

Reason I love the clear headlights, becauseeee they stand out on black car and design of the heads really show/flow with the design of the car... I love it

For the intake
Buy this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcs-cai5529

Cut the end of the pipe

Now it's 3" pipe
and you buy this 8" filter
AEM 21-2038DK 3" Inlet x 8" Element Dryflow Air Filter : Amazon.com : Automotive AEM 21-2038DK 3" Inlet x 8" Element Dryflow Air Filter : Amazon.com : Automotive

What you get is? A little bit more shorter pipe with big filter
^Short good, big filter good

Plus doesn't touch to Inspire fogs
Plus filter is not low as other intakes. Better for your rainy days in FL

You know I tried too much intakes.
This one gave me something, that others didn't
When you floor it, intakes makes a deep noise at 3500 RPM, a noise like how VTEC comes on... I love it. It just pops out around 3500
and if you keep flooring it...VTEC pops with a nice sounds too

I call it double VTEC I'll record a video too
I love that 2 poping sounds
First one around 3500 is deep sound, and VTEC one is just screams

Matt has DC too on this Type-S

Or use it as it is... when it's time to change the filter, buy the 8" AEM and cut the pipe... if you don't want to pay more for the filter. But intake comes with it is like size of your exhaust tips
You have done the TB bypass right?
Oh my god you haven't done it Do it before installing the CAI
You want pictures? and what you need?

I knew someone would ask JnC for help as I answer all the Q's. Glad I could help! Amateur hour.

Obviously there is no "set height" on the wall. That is relative to your starting height. So J's would be what, ~3 inches lower then stock or ~1 inch lower then mine? The blue line...

Wow man, not trying to bust your balls here. I appreciate you putting up the picture, it was exactly what I was looking for. I only said that coz I saw his name currently in the thread and not yours.

So would the answer then be the height to the bottom of the headlight, as the blue line appears to be? Or should it be the height from ground to the middle of the projector? They aren't too different I realize, just trying to see what exactly the goal should be.

Center of the projector lens.

I highly advice some of you guys dropping tons of money on authentic ZKWs and CBIs to stop on over to HIDPlanet and do some reading. I'd hate to see you drop all that cash and not get the full potential out of your equipment. The more you know, you know?

No doubt it is in both. Truth be told, I'm sure I would have been able to search and find the answer on my own, but, I had not actually searched for it yet. Only brought up the question here because the topic came up and I'll be doing the same adjustment that J will be doing.

^Didn't you just get your lights from JnC? Yours should be perfect sans the height. He does all the lens/reflector tweaking himself.

J should have been doing this while his car and lights were in this state...

Yea, partially the same adjustment as J then. Unless I misinterpreted what was required for his adjustments, I thought he was talking lens tweaks as well as height. I'm only needing to make height adjustments.

J - sorry for the interruption! Carry on posting awesome pics of the car!

^that's exactly what I'm talking about too...I'm not that anal for the whole "tweaking" of the projector lens either. I just want the driver/passenger height to be set perfectly for each other.

Tyler, that's a big move on your part, man...that's awesome. I bought a set from Farukh (JNC) that he had for sale in the BM. Great guy, super fast shipping too!

Meko, what you talking about...I've had the throttle body bypass done for like 4 years now! Thanks a lot for taking the time to post. I'll likely be going to home depot at some point to come up with my own solution. I'd REALLY love to keep the filter in the bay, but shield it from hot air. I never did like having the filter so low to the ground in crazy azz flooding Florida. We'll see. I also already have a good decently sized AEM dryflow. And say something about my tips again, son...say it!

Chad, thanks for posting that, man. That's what I wanted to know for sure...so the raise driver side one isn't supposed to be where the passenger one starts. I'll do this behind Walmart after dark tonight. I appreciate it.

Trust me shield won't work for the SRI and in FL... no way
Or put the stock intake back in

Why is that pipe connected to TB if you did the bypass?

ohh I forgot the spanky for the air intake....

Jeremy, if you see Meko's intake, its sitting a good 4-6 inches from the end of the bumper which is a good 4-5 inches off the ground....

unless you are in a foot deep water and gunning it, you will be fine....

and SRI will feel more free flowing, but the heat soak will mess things up....

Tell that to MR. Steven Bell!

We'll see, it's not pressing at the moment, but I'll come up with something clean looking, hopefully.

Meko, that's a vaccum line, bruh, not a coolant line!
The TB bypass is done AT THE TB. Novel idea?

Why not just do a big plastic intake like Anil has. UBI or something custom?

And those wires on the right...

I know, that's why I said when I removed the OEM intake, I'd uncovered a nasty amount of wiring that needed to be cleaned up, or at least hidden with loom

I'm actually on ebay now looking for just the tube that broke. I'm strongly considering losing the throttle body spacer too. Some have said you lost a little throttle response from it, right?

Part number for that tube is 17228-RCA-A00, its cheaper from this link compared to ebay and free shipping

You're the man, Will.
I think that's the route I'll take. It'll hide all that nasty wiring too
Plus, I kinda prided myself on having the oem look under hood.
