Ok, SOOO:
Stock Exhaust Weight was 38.5 lbs
RV6 True Dual Weight is 17.5 lbs!
Ok, so it's really 54.5 lbs so a gain of 16 pounds.
Removal of stock exhaust was easy enough...used PB blaster on the 2 bolts...and with my breaker stick was able to get the 2 nuts of and pry the mufflers free. Install of RV6 was a little more difficult because it's heavier so it's a LOT easier to put it up piece by piece. Also on my first 2 joints, the wrap I added made it too tight for the clamps to slide into place, had to unwap a few times to get the clamps into place. I also lost a little time on trying to figure out what clamp goes where. The 2 with no inner ring, go on the middle as those 2 pipes are super tight.
Also, there is a bridge that connects the two pipes at the rear with 2 allen bolts...this thing is awesome because it allows you to make final adjustment to the tip locations in the opening before bolting that down. I also lost a little time because I originally placed the bolts of all the clamps facing down and realized that you could see the rear ones...and also they would snag as 2 of them were the lowest point.
Fitment was spot on, and for a base opening, there are zero complaints about the tips...any bigger and they'd be touching the edges.
And now that I've heard it...I'm FKN returning it or selling it on the BM. I hate it.
Ok, and this made it really easy for me to decide on returning the longer dynomax resonator to amazon. The growl is deep and no longer sounds tinny and restrictive. My old exhaust didn't sound bad, but even on my first test drive, I realized how much I had certain RPM's that I mentally prepared to cringe at that were totally gone. I have zero rasp now, even cold.
And do you know how much I love you guys!??! I didn't even cheat and do my first cold start/engine idle relearn or first test drive without you.
Vid below is of first startup idling...hope your speakers can handle it cause it's a DEEP bass...it was vibrating my garage door!
ps...my buddy got rid of his 2nd gen with the tranny about to explode and about every dash light on and the only thing I salvaged was his chrome trimmed license plate. Kinda like how it ties the emblem chrome and exhaust now together. Plus, it was free.

LOL...glad I could help you out with a WTF moment. Maybe it was a little over the top! Sean said at 1000 pages I had to post a nude so I googled naked man tucking and, voila! I obliged!
Ok, so back on topic.
Went to Target to return some things with Betty. I have to say, after driving it chill, even with the AC on and windows up, the deep tone is friggin intoxicating. Richie got this one right and although the pricepoint is very high, I have to say that I can see why.
Great job at angling the tips to match the bumper opening, which you can see here. I'm very happy with the look, although I'll still be on the lookout for what he has to offer for the base opening in the future.
My little car model, being silly
In love with this one, from a distance
Waiting on the other video to load.

Id be scared to search "naked man tucking".
Need an engine load vid. I think Id like the overall appearance more if it had one tip on each can. Right now they look like pea shooters.

Sound clips!
I can see you shooting and then Betty pops in...
"Alright, alright, I took 3 pics, get out of the way!"
And I'm with Morgan on this one, they're tiny.
I think you should cut them bishes off and put your base tips on it SOOO much better.

^^^yeah, you post a pic of a naked guy and it's just an accident. I do it and it's weird.
Anyway, no, I'm happy with the tips. Any bigger and they wouldn't fit the opening. I'll wait and see what he has in store for a dedicated base tip eventually. I won't be putting my stock exhaust tips back on...I'd buy the ATLP tips and get the type S lip before I hack up the RV6 to look stock.
Ironic though Austin...since just last week you were whining about how excited you were about all the money spent and how happy you were and how everyone was an ahole for only posting go moar low...and all you've really said was "I don't like the tips".
Anyway, here's a longer vid I took...the first 3 or 4 minutes have too much wind to be great. Listen to startup and go straight to 4:03 The but you get the idea from the end.
John, thanks buddy!

She said it looked a lot better than she expected (she was always against quad tip in that opening, even when I thought about just tips). She said she had to admit that it sounded great and was happy that I was happy with it.
Austin, I knew you would support it since you wanted me to keep my base tips with you, bud. I'm happy with it though...at least for now I feel no pressing need to do anything with them. We'll see what other options present themselves.
Morgan, I have a peashooter, but I call it my sinep! I hate the single huge tips that come on the comptech/greddy. I like the duals tips...the other problem with trying to slap a base tip on there is that they aren't split into 2...it's 2 ACTUAL exits from the muffler. I'm good with how they look for now though, more than happy actually...based on the price I paid.
Steven...yes sir...that rear window area made it way too windy but I don't know how to edit video and I took it all in one shot. That's why I gave the caveat to skip to 4:03 in the video. The end is a LOT better.

@ peashooter being sinep
Mitzi didn't want me to get my exhaust at all. Now whenever we go under a bridge or something she'll roll down her window if I hit the gas. My dad does it too

Honestly Tyler...I had a friend throw a big muffler and tip on my 1987 Corolla in high school and that was mildly fun. But I have never done anything to make the exhaust sound better on any of my cars. I thought I was satisfied with the little bit of rasp I had and the way the exhaust sounded down low before.
BOY was I wrong...when you said that your exhaust made you fall in love with your car all over again, I thought you were exaggerating. Clearly, you were not because I'm ITCHING to drive my car somewhere right now...ANYWHERE just to hear that sweet deep tone. No wonder you fkn cringed and told me my car sounded like a POS when we met!
J.
I tried to be slick and buy the exhaust without Betty knowing. Not because she'd give me a hard time but because she thinks I'm nuts with my car etc and I didn't want to add to that. BAM...paypal doesn't go through but she sees the page loading "what did you buy"...nothing...then fkn AMEX calls to clear the transaction so I was busted. She actually took it pretty well. She told me she was used to the rasp but didn't think it sounded sexy like now.

Thank you boys...
Ok Austin, see why I'm willing to deal with a little set of quad sineps now?! I can't lie...I do wish they were a LITTLE bigger, but they also appear smaller because of the rolled lip that makes the opening look smaller but also looks cleaner. If you look at how much space they take up, it fills up the entire wheel opening of the aspec.
One more vid from outside the car under load. A big thanks to my beautiful and daring videographer who risked life and limb going to the median while shooting. Didn't even have the heart to tell her she was crooked the entire time since it's on my contour and she can't see what she's filming. Notice the stock wdp drive by after me...TOTALLY silent! Vid to follow shortly...
Again, VERY happy with this purchase. Thanks again Cory (redbirds).
Quality and fitment?
EDIT: in these pics you can see the clamps with the bolts being down and visible. I changed it after the pictures.
J
Ok, Vid finished uploading within the 15 minutes so here it is.

At idle it made me think it was going to be a little too loud. After watching that last vid, clearly I was mistaken. Love it.
