What's this Jesse's amp thing you're speaking of?

I need some bump in the Accord but with the damn double stroller I'm very limited. Plus I don't like how 1 sub looks in the trunk. I like to fill in the space if you know what I mean... But the unclad enclosure has always been my favorite, I need to see if I can find something like that, or I guess find someone to make it.

My audio friend has his subs in the rear deck of his Jetta. You would never know he has a system in there unless you know him or hear it.

I find that it's hard to capture sound from a video.

Kevin...I think we're at a point in our lives where one small sub will make you happy enough to pump that 2 Live crew but not take up too much trunk room. Plus, weight savings...
Jesse is a guy on facebook that's an electrical whiz...he takes the oem amp and replaces all the mosfets and capacitors as well as tweaks the tweeters for around $225 to bump out the output. He's also fixing my bluetooth (hopefully) and is capable of fixing nav drives. I can refer you to him if you like, but text me. I'm trying to see if he'd be able to do something for the oem radio in the S2000!

Ivo, do you recall your starter "breaking in"? It has a strong start but it kinda makes this funny supercharger sound when it fires up...like WHIZZZZ...Jonathan at Acura says it's normal with a lightweight flywheel. I think it sounds cool.

I remember buying a starter for first Type S 6MT and it was brand new from a accord coupe 6MT and it made that noise for the first few thousand miles and than it went away eventually.

Thanks Godfather!
That's what Jonathan said...he said it's probably the "newness" of the teeth...the part number does cross shop to accord and TL-S so I am sure it's right. Plus, it's very obvious design match. That was a tough one to install too...forearm scratches to prove it.

No problem dude anytime and it's a bitch to install I agree!! Today I was popping off the side mirrors to lube the actuators because they click sometimes and cracked the passenger side mirror like a idiot! Called local dealer and they price matched defray Acura $42 dollar lesson. Take your time with those mirrors everyone!

I find it easiest to use one of the plastic trim removal tools to get it...but really...did you find the little indentation where the screwdriver goes? It's like 2 side pieces and a little lip where you literally just insert a big headed flat screwdriver and twist to get it started.

Sorry to hear that, man...

Yes I have removed the mirrors before with no issues and yes I know about the tabs but the passenger side seemed really fragile because all I did was wiggle the flat head screw driver against the tab and it just spidered on me! O well at least it wasn't expensive to replace. Next time I will just take my time and not rush.

Mine made a noise too at first but more like a screech sound from teeth not disengaging right away. It went away after a few starts once the teeth on both starter and flywheel wear into each other a bit.

well the first one the guy sent me, genuine NEW honda (my buddy techs were super impressed, for $200 on Mamazon)...
bendix wouldn't disengage after the car started. Sounded like a crazy supercharger.

Yea I freaked out at first too. Konrad was like first time did it for ~15secs, 2nd time half that, 3rd time 2-3secs then gone. That shit was loud and sounded like something out of a horror movie. Only happens now if I hold the key in position 3 or whatever after the car starts, but not that loud anymore. Just embarrassing if you do it at a gas station

I guess it really is just the bendix gear getting re-acquainted with the flywheel teeth!

I told myself I will only visit first 15pages. rest tomorrow lol

Question: How does the 6spd TL-S feel vs S2000? I own TL-S auto and AP2 and darn I be surprised if I ever get rid of my S2000 but love to try manual TL-s. your thoughts?

LOL...My buddy that bought it is doing well! He was at some training for a month so I hadn't heard from him...he did tell me the balljoints were needing replace, but overall, he was still very much in love with the car and I'm happy knowing it was cared for.

As far as TL-S vs AP2 Heres my take:
S2000 transmission is better, no shock there. The car feels so light on it's feet...takes off so effortlessly and of course, is a blast to drive and enjoy a beautiful day in.
TL-S is also fun to drive, obviously more comfortable, can fit a kid in it, better sound system, more torque...so it's a solid car.

My take owning both is that sometimes I feel like I have 2 very similar cars, in that, I have same wheels on both, both manual (which I love "in theory" but in South Florida traffic it's pretty annoying to not have an automatic at all), both hondas, both similar acceleration. Now, I guess that can be a good thing because of familiarity, but it also sometimes feels like I'm not experiencing anything new. Either way, solid solid reliable cars that still look great a decade later!
