not a pro, but getting better at it.
It's not a daily driven car, I have a 91 crx and a 2008 Honda element to commute to work with. When it's not in "mod mode" I drive it 3-4 times a week though, how could I not.

it looks new because Im super anal about keeping it clean. I have hundreds of dollars worth of car cleaning/detailing supplies and equipment. I only wash it when it's necessary, and do the two bucket system. Other than that since I live in Cali, it's dust and spray detail or optimum NoRinse. Half the time of washing and less likely to swirl up the paint. I rather spend 10-15 min a day spray detailing it then 2hrs+ washing it.

west system 105 resin and 207 hardener. first coat must be light. wait till its tacky, apply CF, tape back the edges like in the pics. then after its cured you can layer it. after second coat you can wet-sand, then add however many layers you want im doing 4 coats then an automotive clear over that.

It'd help a lot with making the items light and give you a very nice even coat of resin.

no, im not using a pump. really no need unless im making parts out of a mold. it would give an even coat of resin but im not trying to coat the entire part front and backside. just whats seen. plus i want multiple coats. im using the overlay method and want/need to get a nice thick coat. wet-sanding really isn't that bad and goes pretty fast, between coats. this is purely cosmetic not trying to save weight when the parts are plastic and the car weighs over 3,500 lbs

before bye Di-Noc it was kinda dull and the corners were peeling
after hello
just testing out the fit and look, one more pass with the wet/dry sandpaper and another coat of resin and they should be done. im gonna try to implement some bright white SMD LED's to light up the "ACURA" lettering. i think it will give a brighter more crisp light than the EL tape. wish me luck

call me crazy, but i actually prefer the di-noc! haha but im no carbon fiber afficionado, i just prefer the flat over the gloss. youre def putting in major work tho, props on that!

That's what I'm going for unique and never before seen on a 3rd Gen.
just ask the people with the Di-Noc already alot of them wished it had more of a gloss look to it. It does look good. I just wanted something with some "wow" to it and real. You would have to see them both in person to actually appreciate the look of the real CF opposed to the vinyl, it's a no brainner.
believe me I want to install some of this stuff already but I want to finish all my parts first. Plus this kind of stuff takes time and one needs to be patient to get the results they want. Maybe before years end! But there's still more mods planned ahead! I have been really bored, can you tell?

Sure no prob, and yeah, automotive clear with hardener from a gun, and just on a side note not all rattle cans are crap. I've used SprayMax 2k 2 part clear and it gives you spray gun results, shop quality paint thats easy to use. Because it's a 2 part paint you'll have less than 24hrs to use it once the hardener is activated. Good stuff, for those who don't have a gun

yeah, the 2K is kinda pricey. now i see how you get such perfect finishes on you projects. i have never used the preval system. the preval is cool because you only use the paint you need you need. although the pressure can seems kinda small dunno how much you could actually paint. its for small projects with not alot of surface area.

Ya I just sigh when I see all the threads about people painting their grills only to have it start chipping. Some of that is bad prep but most of it is because they are using rattle can clears of course its gonna chip! With the preval ya it would be mainly for small projects but I have never actually used it, I never got around buying any real paint and hardener for it. I tend to over research things and I was getting overwhelmed with all the different options out their for clear coat brands and hardeners/ set speeds/ thinning I couldn't make a decision. Thats when I found the 2K. I think if I could just find a good quart of clear and hardener to use through the preval it would be a lot cheaper then the 2K and allow me to use it more often. Any advice on a decent clear/hardener combo that I might be able to try in the preval?

Awesome progression on your car sir! It's great to see someone that is building there own car from passion and being a true enthusiast! Anyone can pay someone else to build there car for them and say "they built there car" but you sir shows howvit should be done! Love the car can't wait to see when it's finally finished!

Thanks!
I always said you get such satisfaction when you do mods yourself. I appreciate the comment.
lol!
Thanks, got bored yesterday while some resin was drying on my latest part. My key fob was looking tired! So I switched out the internals and the shaft from my mem1 fob into a new extra fob I had laying around, now its new again!
