thanks man, honestly i dont know i just get bored and brainstorm new mods. problem is................ im sick in the head! I CANT JUST DO A SIMPLE MOD! i always have to put my own spin on it. the V1 is a perfect example, i just could have suctioned that thing up on the windshield and hid a few wires and called it a day. but no...............i have OCD, ADD, ADHD, and MODD all rolled into one.

believe it or not i already have some future mods lined up, nothing crazy or over the top but unique, clean, and never before done here.

i better stop

And I thought my V1 hardwired to the left of the rear view mirror was semi-clean. Nucking futs! Nice work.

Thanks for the reply.

I've kept up with ur thread from the day that I found it. What's the average cost in doing real carbon fiber for the interior pieces like u did? Your mods are awesome and you're an inspiration. Hopefully I'll have my TL looking awesome soon.

I know, whenever I add a mod or do something to the car I try to make it look oem or as if came like that from the factory. I don't want it to look like I just slapped something on there.

honestly I don't know the cost, but it's gotta be expensive. I've seen similar parts for other cars CF costing hundreds.

Haha, that's exactly the kind of response I wanted to get. Like what is it? Lol! I didn't picture it but that thing taped up in that blue painters tape is a valentine1 radar detector.

Not arrows but indicator lights for front, side, and rear. Just a straight line not arrows. Still cool, and for me pretty much the same.

So are you going to mount the radar with what would be facing the front facing the back? And vice versa? If that made any sense LOL. It's definitely a strange and unique idea to have it back there, how this stuff pops into your head is beyond me

Just as if it was suctioned on the windshield. Same position just in the rear deck. I made windows on the pod for front and rear detection. Even though the Radar signal can go through anything but metal. I did some preliminary testing before I mounted it back there putting it up front and in the rear and this thing is so sensitive that there was really no difference in performance.

Very impressed on the V1 custom mounting in the rear deck. Looks phenomenal but I am skeptical that you may have hindered its performance by placing it back there. I noticed a noticeable drop in performance after I got my windshield tinted.

I'd be intrigued to get your thoughts and idea on how to mount laser jammers as that is what I'm looking into right now.

Good job either way. You're one of the few old-timers that still remains with the 3G.. most have moved on or don't post anymore.

If you stand in front of your car and look straight through the middle of your windshield you'll see that the rear deck lines up damn smack in the middle. Which is where you Would want to install the V1. There's really nothing blocking it besides the a-pillars and they are only inches wide. The sensitivity of the V1 makes up for that I believe. The tint you installed must have had some metallic properties if it affected it that much.

I've seen some clean installs of the LI jammer in a TL.

This is my second 3rd Gen. It's the best looking tl IMHO, and until a better version comes out I'll still be around. Probably still modding this one

Battery setup is fiiiyyyyaaaa!!! The V1 setup is simply amazing too. But let me ask you, did you take it apart somewhat to get the knob off of it to put it in the cubby setup?

Thanks! I didn't touch the V1, it's back there intact. I bought the remote module for it. it turns it on-off, has mute, volume, a separate tiny speaker for the tones, which I re-wired and you can control all the functions of the V1 with it.

Thanks. The ride has 29,000k miles. I was transferred at work so as of a year ago my job is only 1.5 miles from home. Plus I have a beater crx I put, put around too. Not a bad deal since gas prices are getting crazy

Jamie, I understand why you have the CRX, but with the best looking TL/Type S on the site, I would want to drive that bad boy everywhere/all the time!

sup guys! just thought i'd post up some pics of some of the new mods that are in store for the type-s. plus some other pics while i was messing around with camera. i'll be out of town for a week next week so it will be a bit before i install these.

ST800 keyless push button start / proximity auto lock-unlock sensor / remote start / digital key

im in no hurry to install this since i'll be doing some custom mounting of the button and digital key. im not just gonna slap the button on the dash, plus i found a better spot for the digital key than the front windshield. stay tuned

yeah, it should be fun, i'm not doing the wiring. i'll leave that to someone with experience in that area. i'm just gonna do the custom work to mount the button.

i got it for $340 shipped. there was an unauthorized group-buy thread which was closed. pretty good deal since the original price was like $500. this thing does alot.

what do you mean "miss" you getting rid of the ride?
