Angry

Car is currently for sale! Up on craigslist for 16,9.
Though I know it won't sell for that, lol. Worth a try cause in my opinion it's definitely worth it. I know this isn't the usual update around here, but hey. Shit happens. My goal: help wifey buy a car, and pick up a g37 after the winter for myself.unless I can find a 4g tl with 6mt for under 30k before then. Any ideas fellow azine members?

There is a link to the craigslist ad,

Why does it says 10K on the title
A friend of mine wants a TL but he has to sell his H3 first.

G37 sedan? You won't be happy with it after a TL.
Coupe? Yeah maybe with MT

I know it's a little steep, and i also know i won't sell it for that much, but considering it's definitely cleaner than a lot of the 3G's that are for sale, maybe it will help. I can bet none of those tl's for sale have new paintjobs. lol
thanks for the links btw! i might go test drive one later today or tommorrow.
show your friend my car? ill give him an azine discount hahaha

So, I drove a 2010 TL TECH with a 6-Speed (SH-AWD) last night.
Effing Amazing. Huuuge difference from the 3G, and the AWD felt perfect.

I drove up to the dealership after work, and went to talk to my buddy in sales. He gladly handed me the keys with an assuring "you're gonna love it". I hopped in, and immediately felt more comfortable than my 3G, softer leather, seats seemed to "cradle" me more. I adjusted my seat, and hit the push to start button with the subtle yet noticable rev. Nice. I hit the clutch, and shifted into first gear, soo much crisper, smoother, softer. And off i went. Crazy different, the power is much more pronounced than my 3G, it felt like it just wanted to pull off and go as fast as it could. Or maybe i was just excited. lol. Driving felt awesome, great pull, easy steering yet enough feedback from the wheel so that i could still have a feel on the road. I ended up at a red light, and came to a smooth halt. "When the light's green; Punch it!" What? I looked at my buddy(the salesman) kind of surprised because there was a sharp curve right ahead. Hesitantly, I rolled into first, second, and turned the wheel. It was almost like i expected it to skid off track,or fishtail, something! But, the awd system kicked in, i loosned up my death grip on the steering wheel, and felt the car almost push me out of the turn effortlessly. MINDBLOWN! The smile on my face lasted the whole night. Now, granted, besides an STI, I've never driven any manual AWD cars. But I've had my share of RWD and FWD. But, wow, this car is awesome.

After I left, I thought to myself, I Dont even want to test drive a G anymore, I want that 4G. Comfort, power, awd? what more can you want.

Glad to know you've found another TL that makes you happy, I hope you get it! That is...if you truly want it

Just the styling kills it for a lot of us.

Your request for a change in cars has been denied. You shall keep the 3G. That is all.

Honestly, I test drove the 4G auto...but wasn't moved enough to ever even consider paying 40K plus...I'm guessing the 6 speed is a whole other beast!?

SH-AWD does handle good but to me interior is not sport as 3G
It does give the feeling of outside being too big
unlike a german car.

if you want a better handling car and sportiness try BMW
handles crazy + reduce one more gear and give it a little bit more gas, boom slide that ass

I just droved AT, shawd.. but that huge body feeling won't make the MT fun for me i know
and TL needs more torque

30K is not cheap
think about everything

give it a try

30K? Those things are 43K...even if you get a killer deal, that's a HUGE car payment.

Again, request denied.

I won't knock it for it's looks because we've all seen the potential the 4G has. BUT, when I drove it I kinda felt like I was in my car...liked the AWD but maybe my expectation of it was too high because I didn't feel blown away by it (or my car already handles awesome?). I don't know...if I found a used 4G AWD for under 25K, I'd possibly consider it one day...but with me receiving the title to my 3G 2 days ago...it likely won't be any time soon.

I think the problem with us modders is that when we feel "done" we get bored and immediately feel the need to either change tail lights, buy new rims or another mod, or just sell the car and move on. Keeping up with the Jones'

Yeah 40.

Plus, I mean look at his TL. After that TL you won't even enjoy looking at 4G.

Keep your TL

I agree with Jeremy and Meko here....the 4G's do have that extra little power and put you in your seat pretty well but they dont look as good (as the 3G or other cars out there).....I like the interiors thow....i think Honda/Acura has one of the best interiors. Period.

but that said, I dont think 40K is justifiable....now if the 4G TL was marked like the 3G at around 34-35K, I think it would have been a lot better deal....either way, your money your decision....i bet you would have thought it thro'....

thanks for the replies guys,

Well,I've had a few interested buyers,1 serious. But when it came down to selling, I got nervous Maybe I'm not quite done with the 3G yet, especially after reading jeremy's opinion! lol.

But to keep the topic of the 4G intact, I still like it. And i think the 6-Speed has a substantial difference over the 3G. mainly in the handling department. As for looks, though not the prettiest when it's stock. You can't deny that with some TLC, it could look like one bad ass acura. Price wise, and probably the only reason im considering it, is because I know I can get a good deal. I work for the dealership after all and the one i test drove was 32k with 28k miles. But my price would've been in the high 20s.

jeremy, i think my problem is that im getting bored. Im just looking for things to do..if its not sold by the end of the month. Eff it.
Meko, I've driven BMWs (E92,E90), as well as owned an E46. and while i love the feel of them, I just feel more at home in an acura..plus they have too many things to go wrong with them. and a new or CPO BMW costs a little much to be happy with.

I wont deny, in our opinion, the 3G definitely looks better. But Swoosh, you gotta drive a 6 Speed..just for shits. lol

I too don't want to test drive the 6MT cause I'll be VERY tempted. Ok, high 20's is a pretty good deal, man...but at some point, these cars will ALL be under 20K and will still have plenty of life left in them! Until then, keep making the 3G amazing! I keep saying I'm done and I'm bored, but I finally paid it off and it feels nice to drive a paid off car after 10 years of payments.

I blushed at your comment about my opinion...thanks man!

SWOOOOOOOOSH

all the mods you did to your car would pay off with a 6mt man
otherwise...naaah so so

so when are you starting? ahaha

Edit: I agree with rockstar, ok 20ish is good but how about the mods you will do to that car?
4G wants lots of money to look good.

At the end would it be "The End Car" ? I belive so
Pay it off also...then you are done.

Not mentioning the 5G aaaaaaaaand not mentioning iffff it becomes damn hot like 3G hehe

good points all.
maybe i should keep it, but hey, leaving it up on CL for sale for another week can't hurt

after that,i've decided on a small list of mods:

CAI
Exhaust Mods( im extremely hesitant to just start cutting parts off,i think we went thru this on Jeremys thread before, but i just cant justify modding an oem exhaust with a sound clip.what if i dont like it?!)
A-Spec Kit(sides and rear)
annnd I dont know what else.

^^^ exhaust can be very very tricky dude....

i thought i knew it all and went custom....and went to a muscle car shop....when i started my car up (cold start) Tyler (another member on the forum) came up to me and said it sounded like a V8....def made my happy but i do have a ton of rasp at certain rpms...i feel the gains from this exhaust are awesome....but again, i ended up spending almost what a rv6 exhaust cost and mine doesnt sound as good....i might have gotten more gains but am not sure....

so my point being....(this is what OPEL told me long back and i wish i would have listened)....start with a straight pipe....and then add mufflers/resonators as you need....

so just pick the tips and get everything straight pipes....sure it will sound like shit for couple days but then you know what you want and add mufflers/resonator.....custom exhaust is trial and error....

or you can just buy an already tried out version....RV6/ATLP/ sound very exotic....

my thoughts on the intake:

it does sit pretty damn low, especially for me since the TL is already lowered substantially. im probably going to pick up a water jacket and bypass valve soon, though i know people run CAIs in New england everyday, with no problems.
The sound is awesome,deep,throaty,just,beastly.

Gains..*sigh* though this might be a mixture of a placebo effect plus my ECU reset (pedal procedure), this morning, i felt it was, dare i say faster? quicker to accelerate? it was about 60 degrees at the time. But realistically,i probably didnt gain much,if any hp. lol

I love it,and am newly in love with my car. lol

I think it has more to do with whether or not you're selling for someone else? Might have been a misunderstanding, no?

Lookin good though...super low!
