Exhaust TL-S Type?
Hey Bri... What exhaust do you have on your TL? They look like comptech? I want to add the cat back exhaust with the Dual tips... I have the A-Spec rear bumper... Do I need to modify it to fit your exaust?

For someone to sit through all 13 pages, which I just did, (8 before work and 5 after) it's almost like reading a really good book or watching a series ... you just can't wait for what's next. Props to you on the ride, and graduating for that matter.
I find it funny that you titled the thread with the word "final" when there seems to be no signs of finality anywhere.

The custom fiber optic angel eye project
So I've just about had it with CCFL angel eyes, LED angel eyes;
angel eyes which basically require opening of the headlight when out.
A couple months ago I bought angel eyes off of someone on the market here who took them off of a 535i.
The actual rings themselves were useless to me since they were too large in diameter, even the smaller ring. But the lighting source was extremely useful in that it allowed me to feed light fiber optically into the plastic acrylic (which I will discuss later) into the headlight. Basically, if I need to replace the light, I won't have to open up my headlight, I just open my hood.
Soon enough I will change the halogen bulb to a white LED... I just want to have fun with the yellow/halogen color so it's visible when the sun is shining bright.
The plastic acrylic rods I initially bought were too small in diameter, not length so I ordered the thicker rods and they are on their way. But to experiment, I wanted to see exactly how effective this "custom angel eye" project is.. so I heated the acrylic rod in the oven at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes, and half-ass made a circle out of it with a vitamin water cap. I then dremeled slots like the BMW angel eyes so that the light can be refracted properly.
Stay tuned!

This reminds me of how the angel eye mods were originally done..
Acrylic rods with the use of LEDs.
The trick is to cut the lines at the back closer together so that it "holds" more light in the ring... Which I'm sure you figured out anyway.

Brian,
I am considering taking on the LED project in my headlights. I am cool with the whole baking in the oven concept, but how do you get them air tight when you put them back together!?! This thread has been great to read, btw (just found it today)!
Thanks,
Alan

Trying to find time to do the fiber optic angel eyes... I did make better ones however, I'm still trying to figure out how to feed the thick 5series wires into the headlight.
On top of that, I'll be installing Audi S6 lower DRL LEDs to my lower grill, a clean and simple look for day time running lights.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.

I had a feeling something was coming since I notice you relocated your license plate.

That is funny as I have a set of those Audi R6 DRLs sitting here with me for about a year waiting to be installed, just have to get around and install them already
I love the LED DRLs, prefer them over the accord fog light mod as the fog mod is pretty much useless since the fogs, once installed, point side ways

I'm lurking on the W212 side of mbworld.org but in order to get those leds, I think the 04-06 base bumper would accomodate them much better than an 07-08 base or type s because of the lower foglights.
JnC-
I sent you a PM regarding my project with the 5-series fiber optics... check your PMs and PM me back ! Also, do you have authentic S6 DRL LEDs? There are some really good knock offs that are almost exactly the same in terms of looks and brightness. I just wasn't too sure if german wiring would work on our acuras.

I didnt even realize that you had the type S a spec lip. I think the best way for you to get the LED DRL set up would be to get the 09+ S class DRL LED bar. Its a straight bar and should work fine with the type S lip.
Here is a quick photoshop .
BTW the S6 LEDs I have are authentic as I got them through the local Audi/Porsche dealer, you need to buy the power plugs as well, input is direct 12v so it all depends on how you wire them.
For the type S A spec lip, I suggest using 09+ S class LED DRL bars, here is a quick photochop to show how they'd look, installed properly of course

I thought I replied to your PM, let me see if I can dig it out and reply again.
