Loki,

I'm new to what all the mods are. Can you explain what LED lights you are changing.
All the white dash lights?

I use to have a newer Passat and I do miss all the dash lights in red.
That was the coolest part of that car.

Thanks

Studog

cTLgo, if you could edit my first post and delete the pictures I would appreciate it. Here are the updated ones in proper sizing.

Before the brakes and wheels, I'm getting all those chips on the front bumper near the liscence plate and the hood fixed, then the grille will be blacked out and my headlights, then it's all up to ronjon to get me my wheels on time.

I got the ones from Dave Prince, he does the group buy here. I am not very happy with the curve in the rear as well with the light output. Turns out my whole drivers side isnt even working right now. Need to get it resolved as well, hopefully I can just get a refund.

Looks great! The tinted rears and sides look good with the windows...pretty smooth.

What are you doing with the headlights, smoking the whole thing, clearing and smoking, or just smoking the yellow part?

Saw in another thread you're getting the 1pF's...guess you talked to rondog...it's a shame it didn't work out like he planned, but that's the way it goes sometimes...19 lbs is pretty light, though, so whoever gets those new ones is getting a really nice wheel.

Lokius, your car is looking great, I can't wait to see it when you get the wheels! Are using the winter/rain mats in the summer? Any advantages or are you just trying to keep it clean?

The entire amber section will be smoked from the inside, and all the chrome parts of teh inner headlights will remain. I am not blacking out the headlight housing however, I do have a suprise for alot of you. I have a guy who will make me a dual projector headlight set-up. My TL projectors and where the fogs are will be a set of bosch bi-xenon projectors from an e46. That's really far done the line, if anyone wants to do it now, I can put you into contact with the company that does that kind of work.

I have had those mats on the car since the day I owned it, they are there to keep the car extra clean. The car has alot of miles on it, and I know my carpet mats would be beat up if I didnt have them on there.

When are you getting this done? I would really like to see how it turns out. I want to clear mine, but I would prefer to have the amber inserts be white/gray like the front side markers. Of course, I would also want the rear side marker and tails to be made of the same white/gray plastic with the appropriately colored LED's behind them...but since I know none of this is possible, tinting them and smoking the amber pieces could work, as well, so I would love to see some pics.

If your interested in getting the same brake kit I have on order, we are considering making a group buy for the brakes, please post in this thread so that I can get this company to become a sponsored vendor at acurazine.

Thanks for changing the pictures cTLgo, what did you decide I know you were going with the 3 piece devotions, did you decide to stick it out even after all the price/arrival estimation changes? I think what is getting done with the one piece wheels, is exactly what I wanted in the first place.

Is there anything you can do to darken (at least a little bit) the headlights housing. The rears look bad ass!!! Me likey, but at least for show, you gotta round up the look.

Definitely looks good. Would you be able to take a pic of the door sills in the day time. I would like to see what they look like to see if I want to install them. Thanks in advance.

I will have a bunch of new daytime pictures for all of you. I have an appointment at the end of the weak to get the grille painted and the headlights smoked. Just been swamped, teaching youth tennis camp all week, gotta make some extra cash to afford those brakes and the wheels.

Yeah stuck with it, not a fan of the extra wait time, but its understandable why. Kinda tough when I have the tires already staring at me

I should have my wheels and brakes installed together around Mid August. The brakes will be on the car early August.

I'm pretty sure I just got myself a comptech exhaust, so that will be going on the car this week. I'm going to try and get my headlights smoked when I pick up the exhaust in LA this week or next.

-----UPDATES COMING SOON-----

Will have pictures tomorrow of my headlights, I had the housings blacked out as well as the amber reflector, Harry at Rego Sport, who has smoked most of the so-cal guys here in Cali, said himself that these were the best headlight job he has ever done for our TL. I know that's a bold statement, but they seriously look amazing..

Monday I have my grille being painted, aem intake installed and my camber kit being installed, and Thursday I should have my wheels and tires on!!

Almost done, ALMOST

I always hated that when you turned on the lights, you had your amber side markers on, and this tint did exactly what I wanted got rid of it, when I put my signals on it does still shine through which is good for cops and safety reasons, but it diminishes the amber soo well!!!

The HID's just look so much cooler when they are bordered by black, makes the projectors just look so intense, just look at the picture!

Loki,

Did you actually spray paint the headlight or tint it? If you tint it, can you tell at what percent and hows is the brightness at night with/without the smoked?

the inner housing was painted with a matte black, the side marker was tinted with a spray, best possible combination, HID light output looks identical, however they the projectors look better for some reason.

Amber light output has been signifigantly lowred, but that was my purpose the entire time.
