I often miss my old '04 6MT NBP TL, but I love my current TL-S. If I ever repainted, I'd either pick NBP or MRP, since I LOVE these colors. Your car is definitely at the top of my list of the most tastefully tailored. Keep up the progress!

UPDATE ~

Making more progress but yet stuck, again. Today when I had a chance in between all else that requires my attention and needs as soon as I walk through the door, I found some time and a short break to run outside and escape...lol!

I removed the seat and removed the "REMAINING" of my FAILED! IDQ12. I then screwed in and secured the New IDMAX D4 v3 and took a quick pic of where the JL AUDIO HD900/5 is laying. Its currently located where the NAVI box would be, for now.

This was all I was able to get done since the sun dropped on me pretty fast and the mosquitoes were freakishly fierce! (Sorry to the rest of you who have to deal with cold weather and snow during the winter...we deal with Mosquitoes...lol!) Tomorrow I will try to wire in the sub and mess around with some tunes

Where I last left you guys:

Seat removed and Sub removed...or what was left...lol!

RELEASE THE BEAST!

Mounted the IDMAX12 D4 v3:

JL AUDIO HD900/5 laying in the temp location: (Once the cargo mat is in, it looks pretty good tucked in the corner.)

I can't believe that little amp will be able to supply all the juice you need. Awesome that you almost don't lose any trunk.

I don't lose any trunk... except with this sub it being double decker magnet and sticks out further then the last... its a beast! And as for the amp... 900 watts and smaller in square surface then a iPad but only 1.5-2in thick

Yeah...the side qtr panel wall of the trunk. But as of now, I just pick it up and make my adjustment and place it down. It hold still through it all and with the cargo mat, it's like it was made to be there since the passenger side of the mat is cut with a open notch for the navi equipment. The only thing that actually gets covers is maybe a inch or so of the amp and all the wires.

Which is perfect.

You don't screw the amp down? I love how little space this takes up.
How's the sound? You happy?

Yeah, this thing is prolly one of the smallest ballzy amps I have ever seen! As for screwing down, No. Not as of yet. The cargo mat and rubber bottom tabs on amp hold it in place. Don't wanna make any permanent installs as of yet. This is all temp for the main goal, which is moving everything inside and under the seats making it completely STEALTH, custom and a very clean install. And far as sound goes, it was a night and day 100+% improvement in sound when I disconnected those xovers and went "ACTIVE". I just have to be very careful in blowing the tweets. Tuning and development are still on their way, so I only listen to it on low levels under 20 until the sub is connected and I can start to get everything playing nice with one another.

Super clean setup! I have 2 10" rockford fosgate that I'd love to incorporate like this into my setup, but I need to change my interior components first. How hard was it to take out your back seat? I hear they can be quite beastly.

Thanks man... No one really says just how much in detail...But it comes with a price and pretty good amt of wk to the fenders to get it just right for practical use under every day driving and passenger/weight load. Just to be up front with ya on what to expect.

...XXR's come with a price alright...a fkn cheap price! Should leave you a couple of bucks for camber kit and rolled fender.

PS...amp under seat would be the ultimate in space savings and not having added much weight. One day I'd love to hear what an all in one amp can do (5 channel)

True Story...lol!

Yeah, that is my ultimate goal and final touches to my system once everything is squared away. Its almost there. It now sounds amazing and what a HUGE difference overall the amp, sub and going ACTIVE made. It makes me smile

In this thread, everything is discussed in more detail ~

Thanks for the heads up, I'm in Afghanistan at the moment but when I get back ill probably upgrade to some coilovers eventually. I have race springs right now which give me about a 2 inch drop. If I get the same size wheels/tires you have I think it will look ok but not perfect like yours. I just don't want it to rub. Do you think with race springs it will fit no issues? Or will I need to look into fender rolling?

From what I understand and have read on the XXR 530 thread, guys with mild drop of 1.5 or so even have slight rubbing issues. I am not a master of offsets, so I am not sure if the 18x8.7 +35 will have issues but definitely the 18x8.75 +20 do rub. Check out the XXR 530 thread to get a better fitment idea read their feedback. Because going by my thread, will leave you stuck and collapsed on top of your fenders beyond just a rub issue...lol!

...well on to my newest info or update~

I am truly on the verge of purchasing new OEM carpet sidewalls panels since mine have been altered for my AUDIO set up and pulling EVERYTHING out and selling it ALL! I can't continue doing this and dealing with a company who wants to give me the run around and blame everything 1st before taking responsibility for their products... All I can do is stop fighting and give up.

Yeah... sounds like a recipe for a divorce if I leave the TL at home and still try to make this family trip about CARS...lol!

We came up here to see her sister, mother and bro n law in Winston Salem NC for Thanksgiving. I am even signing on my Samsung GSIII so it's less conspicuous.

Josh, I've been meaning to ask you where you got your exhaust tips and Stage III exhaust done at. As of now I plan on going SIII over Christmas break.

Just looking for a reputable shop that isn't shady like 99% of dealers/shops out in "some" parts of Tampa's auto district

I know exactly what u mean buddy... the tips were from a vendor slash member here in AZ and the work was done at none other better then MAD HATTER on Waters Ave before Nebraska on the left whr re that red Roush Mustang is. I guess that is their sponsored exhaust car. It's always parked right out front near the road so u will never miss it. The Puerto Rican dude or the Old Man is the only 2 guys have ever fucked with my exhaust for over 10yrs of all my performance cars. So when it came to the custom work on the TL... it wasn't hard to pick a well repped shop.

I will get u a name free the tips. I know I have mentioned it in a shout out in my build thread.

Thanks!

I'll def give them a call to map out the costs. I'm in love with the tips, but they just wouldn't look the same without an A-Spec lip. SoCal Auto is a great guy though!

BINGO! That's his name! Sorry I didn't get a chance to get that for you. Busy today doing a lil sumin sumin to the TL... Maintenance of course. Took the fender roller to the rears and a 3QT REDLINE ATF fluid chance today. Rears are still rubbing when loaded with the entire fam. Other then that, rides great...Just not much of any NITTO logo or verbiage left on my rear tires Also, through the rear seat back in since I removed it last to install the IDAX 12in sub...That's it.

I feel ya... But I am DEAD serious. I am at the end of my rope with the TL...Finito! There is NOTHING else I like for the TL. Maybe small changes on what is already existing and maintenance here and there. That is it!

Usually when I feel this way...something NEW is usually in the horizon...Just no time soon unfortunately due to my current $$$ circumstances I am stuck with the TL for a lil minute longer.
