U think its the same pattern? Text me Because reality is, I want to keep em. But John said he tried a thin wall socket and still FAILED. But with what Anil said, I hope that is true. I may have to open and TEST FIT one in there. I won't be bale to send em back, but everyone here will still know they are BNIB open package for fitment, ya know?

The ones that came with my wheels were 19mm and a standard socket was fine.
then i bought the Works lugs and the needed a 21mm socket.
The socket I had was scratching the lug hole so i bought this one and it worked.
what size socket does your lugs need?

Just purchased a 17mm deep "THIN" wall sockey from TIRE RACK dot come, since I could not find one locally for nothing today! Via their wedsite, This socket is specifically for removal of lugs keeping damage to wheels to a minimum providing more room to work with. Which its obviously what is needed for these wheels. It will be here Weds. Oct 31st

Here is a lil research and write up demo I did this morning posted in the 530 thread regarding the socket and wheel wall space...or lack of

You would need to be very very careful since it only frees up a hair of a spacing gap to work with.

This morning I also put together a small demo of this popular talked about issue. I carefully cut the bottom of the SR48 pkg and removed ONLY the socket. Then I took the socket from my DRAG NEO CHROMES for comparison purposes only. Below is some examples w/pics with the differences and space I believe I/we will have when using a thinner wall socket. Not 100% for sure since I have not left to go buy one. I only used what I have laying around and there is a difference.

SR48 Socket fitment:

Fitment with both sockets: SR48 (left/dark in color) DRAG (right/silver)

DRAG socket removed to show a example of the limited space to work with and a lug in place:

2 different designs of sockets but still showing the difference in thickness:

...HOPE THIS HELPS SOME

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeah!

TMPS sensors and (4) TYPE-S center caps arrived

(1) TMPS screw in sleeve seem to be a lil deformed on the bottom nut a tool (pliers) of some sort and missing (1) grey rubber ring like the others have. It doesn't seem to screw on any further but I am sure it does not effect the function of the sensor... we will see Can't complain too much, I got em for a decent price. I am sure the missing and damaged hardware can be had at the dealer. If anyone knows for sure, pls share.

Today my GORILLA "Thin" wall 17mm socket arrived. Without any further detail and firment, it looks like there is no difference between the 2. I did eyeball each socket with the SR48 lug (seen in pic) to see if I saw any difference between the two looking from the top with the lug inserted. They both looked identical.

I can not mount my wheels and tires till I have a few things figured out. This is one. The other is one of the TMPS sensors and installing my Ingalls front camber kit.

Here is the GORILLA vs the stock SR48 socket ~

Just posted this on the 530 forum for someone who was basically saying the same thing...lol!

QUOTE:

I know I know...Me to. I am going through a few things here and there that are preventing me from doing so.

1.) Seems like I am having a TMPS sensor issue on a set I just purchased. They may work just fine, but on a physical aspect, it seems like one of the screw on sleeves that screw on the outside of the valve stem itself is a lil ate up and does not screw all they way down to the rubber washers.

2.) When I figure out the TMPS issue out, I then will install the TMPS and tires to the wheels. But not mout the tires until I get my INGALL camber kits installed. Which is "Planned" on Thursday... "Planned" was they key word...Normally does not happen the way I plan

3.) And just as I mentioned about plans not working out, I may need to travel to the Orlando area to seal a deal with lilsid for a JL HD900-5 amp...

...By the time I am ready and clear to mount these wheels and tires...I will want something NEW...lol!

+1 - That is exactly what I'm thinking of doing now this is becoming a waste of time, money and B.S. headache. But I still have my TMPS issue

If you didn't have all these issues, you'd be bored. Then you'd end up turbo'ing the car or something. These issues are saving you big money in the long run.

U are prolly so daym right! That is why I always have to keep it moving and be involved with something. That is also prolly why I re-entered the RC hobby since I honestly feel my car is coming to a slow halt and end with the modding...Then it will be tweeks here and there and maintenance.

Sometimes we all get caught up in our cars, mods and more cars. As we read or post thread after thread, we tend to forget there is more to each of us behind every post...Including myself #1, I forget what really matters sometimes allowing my TL's shortcomings to control me mentally and physically. But yesterday reminded me why I do slow down time to time and say fk the car...It can wait. (example ~ My current AUDIO and Wheels and Tires issues.)

"I'M GLAD SOMEONE IS USING THEM, Cuz Daddy aint!"... lol!

MY FIRST HALLOWEEN

...and now, on with what comes second...and sometimes deeper then that on the priority list.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeah!!! : ecstatic: MY JL AUDIO HD900/5 Car Audio Amp. ~ Just more shit that needs to be installed...lol!
