UPDATE on engine cover/finish:
IDK...But I think the TEAL is already "Yellowing" from my hood liner. Perhaps from Oil, dirt and grime. There is one button tab missing from my liner, who just so happen to be immediately above the right side of the engine cover raised hump near the TB. Both sides of that hump seem to be getting stained. Although, light...very noticeable to me. This also strikes a concern when doing my brake calipers. Is this color and paint that sensitive? I thought this was to withstand being applied on a engine block and all that comes with that. Idk?

Awesome front bumper JayVee! That looks so much cleaner than the stock one on my 07'! I just finished a halo headlight conversion, but this makes me want to mod my front end even more!

damn...
Matt (McCollins) painted his engine covers white and they got yellow in no time....he ended up taking everything out....
but all i can suggest is use a lot of primer and DO NOT USE clear coat....i think clear coat is the culprit and that turns yellow....

He Anil'd it with the assumption that the clear isn't holding up well!
Actually, that makes sense and also why it wouldn't have been an issue for me, since my color is a tone of yellow/orange anyway.
Also, I'd recommend removing the under hood padding to keep it from rubbing on the cover, plus, lets the heat get moved from under the hood a lot better.

you mite wana give a 2 part paint a try. like an epoxy paint. it kinda pricey and im nor sure what colors you can get it in. but its really really tuff. i think you can get it t sherwin williams. i have used it at where i work. i work in a machine shop and we make stuff out of plastic some times and it has to be painted in this stuff that has to hold up to things bangin into it and fallin on it. its good to like 180 degree too i think.

I have had my reservations. Its off just a tad and basically off a tad on one side more then the other or all together. Another qk fix, for the 3x. But I also have a plan in the werkz for the wing. I will know for sure by the end of the month early next month.

I can't post a pic now...But u guys won't BELIEVE WTF HAPPEN this morning...or actually started last night. I am so pissed!
...Last night I was hearing this faint vibration distorted noise from the sub. It seem to get worse as the evening went on and totally annoying by this morning. So, I posted the issue on my AUDIO thread and IHC told me to listen to it from the trunk, so I did. It was a loud distorted fart sound so I reached to the back of the magnet and pushed on it to see if the vibration would stop...Get this, the entire coil, magnet and cage/basket broke the fk off! The vibration was from a weak batch of IDQ12's made with a weak composite plastic basket made. Per Jerry/niebur3 said ID will cover it 100% even if out of warranty Although, that is GREAT NEWS!~ Its still so aggravating.
Pics coming soon

Yes, The newer designs were made much stronger on the cage/baskets and that is what I will rec if all work out. Now I just hope they don't give me any problems re; Auth Dealer and crap like that! And if all else fails, I will get the ID MAX! That thing even looks like beefy beast of a sub! But dam at $350-400 for 1 12in sub

On a brighter note, I spoke to Jerry/niebur3 about my issue and he ref'd me to call IMAGE DYNAMICS directly for a replacement for this known issue. Without a "PEEP!" from the rep (Richard @ ID) he just said, "DONE! here some info and #'s and email and we will send you a brand new IDQ sub." ~ WOW! to ID customer service and standing behind their product with no issues or requirements such as receipts or auth. dealer proof of any kind. NO HASSLE what so ever! Makes me ~
