Going home today after work to start prepping the remaining plastic engine panel covers. As I said, Idk and don't think I will be doing ALL of the panels the TORQUE N' TEAL. Although, I can admire someone else who has gone that far and think it looks amazing, I am a lil more on the subtle side of things.
I am either doing one of the 2 option making the engine bay just look really clean with the center eng. cover to pop!
Please post your choice/opinion of the 2:
1.) Restore plastic finish (flat black or new plastic look)
2.) Metallic Charcoal Gray (somewhat matching my wheel color)
Thanks!

I did...my entire bay is friggin orange, brother. DO EET. Wife says it, a Senior Amazing moderator says it, little old me says it.
You're right, there's no option three. But also sounds like there are no other options!
TEAL ALL THE WAY! Worst case, it'll be a good coating for a layer of matte black plastidip after the fact if you hate it.

^^^Papa Smurf wouldn't be caught dead in your engine bay! He DID make a pit stop and take a huge sh*t in it at some point though! LOL...
Let's just say I'm lucky I didn't have as much access to forums and digital imaging to document MY riciness.

Anil...I must resist the urge do make a joke about that...(ok, so you know we're good and I meant no harm with my cultural comment at this point so green light right?!?)
Ok, YOU DO!
Ok, on a serious note, in the last few months I feel like I've seen your car emerging from it...kinda transforming and looking a lot cooler. Might be the better pictures you've been posting lately?

No color yet...and delaying to pull that trigger, or push that nozzle But here is the prep movin fwd.
The longest panel needed repair to one stud/poll so I have not prepped or primered that panel as of yet since it is sitting drying with some Gorilla Super Glue and my trusty hammer adding the weight. (Hammers fix EVERYTHING! Light ~ Avg. problems, your avg size hammer will do the job! For big problems, the trusty 3lbs+ Sledge hammer is your solution...)
The repair:
Prep and 2 coats of primer + 2nd coat of clear TEAL cover:

now that is offensive but funny (gonna cut you some slack on that one )....i meant that comment to you and you as in papa smurf didnt imply that too much but well....
well i have stopped doing ricey mods in all honestly....you know when you have your first car and you think of a mod and you gotta do it....you dont have the knowledge of how to remove your manifold but you *think* your manifold will look sooo cool if it was blue
now i think twice....
again ricey mods could be how you look at things right....so i were to put on brembo caliper covers on my car they would be ricey coz i dont have brembo brakes or if my car wasnt able to pull those covers off....those same mods look amazing good on Aaron/Steve's car....even thow they do not have brembos on the rears their car is able to pull those mods off very well....

OK, repaired, prep'd and primed! ...done for the day.
BTW, Wifey changed her mind apparently, she is leaning toward Gloss Black. The way she explains it is, "It will allow the outside exterior design to flow inside the engine compartment as one body and allowing the TEAL to pop a "Random eye poppin WOW factor" while wrapping up the look with a matching manifold plate Teal & Black ...(well, that is me summing up her girly way of explaining it...lol)
anyways, final pics for the days work:

Absolutely love that shade of blue especially on a black car! You're bay is going to look amazing when you are done -- almost persuading me to move it up on my list of "Things to Do"
BTW, that "Bentley" at the car meet was actually a body kit-made 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. (http://carmabrand.com/2011/11/11/chr...riday-special/) Crazy stuff, looked real to me

Now, Re: That Bentley...OMG! If there was ever a waste...That would be #1 on the list! REALLY!? a Sebring...conv to a BENTLEY? ... wow! But I will not lie, It had me fooled. But then again, I just didn't pay attemtion never thinking of a fake or crysler cov to a Bentley. But now thinking of it and looking at the pic from USF meets... I can def tell now. Besides one pcs body as explained in the link, something that I remember was a short wheel base then I imagined or remembered seeing a Bentley. But again, I just didn't pay attention. I just took the pics and keep walking. The interior was very well done! A+

Ok my interwebz friends... Let me apologize ahead of time for disappointing my faithful following crowd, but I just couldn't do it. One, I guess I did;t have the ballz to do it and Two, I know for a fact...The TEAL & BLACK is going to be awesome hands down! Yes, I went the safe route and doing the job 1x. Because I really have a feeling, I would have not liked it myself. But that is all water under the bridge now that a coat and a half has been layed down for the gloss black.
Tomorrow, I will do another coat or 2 and start the clear. I am hoping to have it done for another (semi) car show coming the Saturday night at one of my buddies custom Fab & paint shop. Anywho, here is the first coat of the black.

...Why, YES u Did Grasshoopa, Looks GREAT! Very nice and very clean flow/theme. I see you went with the same color of your ext. That was also my final decision. As I posted in the PAINTED ENGINE COVER thread, I just could not live and sleep everyday with the thought or image of "COTTON CANDY". I a, sure you guys will disagree, but that is what it would have looked like to me being overwhelmed with the TEAL on such a dark theme I been keeping consistent so far with GREAT results IMO. I didn't want to interfere or ruin that giving a ricey touch. So, with the small TEAL added, it will accent rather then take over.

Josh, you're probably right. I just think it would be SO unique-and I love unique!
When you post your final engine cover pictures, maybe someone can Photoshoppe the "all teal" look. Then you'd get an idea of what it would have looked like.

Josh...no pain no gain...
you took a very safe approach with doing the engine cover teal and the rest gloss black....see how it looks....
maybe later when you feel more teal, you can do your calipers TEAL and the rest of the cover pieces TEAL ?
either way....well done dude
