I guess it depends on what angle of the car I'm trying to capture. My vision is to capture a video of the ENTIRE car without any of it being cut off. I've seen car commercials do this and it looks really amazing. I'm sure the gear that use to pull that off costs thousands though...

if you were to have say your 80" pole, are you looking forward? or at the car itself for a profile?

if front/back direction. make the pole, but hook it into an L with 12" of forward/backward. then have another pole to triangulate from the back (or front) to keep it from rotating the cup and losing the whole setup...

I see what you're saying...that's definitely worth doing with a pole that long.

Woah, that's nuts. That rig probably costs more than my car. The crane style is a good idea as well though.

No sir, mine required drilling into the trunk area!
I think he means the front bumper...
Take the hook out of the spare tire, swing by home depot and try threading it into one of those boards with all the sizes!

Video my car rolling...self made, that would be friggin stellar...I still think you can't beat the view from another car rolling and recording you...to get your car into perspective and not all fisheye-e...

I plan on bringing my GoPro with me to FL next week, so maybe if we have time we can try it. This is the kind of video I envision:

FYI, that first gas station in the video and that curvy road the guy was on are across the street from my house. This starts off in Pembroke Pines...and the highway shot looks like it's I75 which is the highway you'll be on to get to Vista View.

PS...the silver Accord...way to use the brush on your rims/tires and then back on the car...same with the drying absorber rag. If he had NBP, that car's paint would be shot.

And on a side note, I love the cars and the Vossens on them...but way to have some variety! 3 friggin cars with same drop/rim combo!

lol you hater. I was going to ask if those locations were anywhere near where you lived. I did notice the carwash faux pas on the silver Accord hehe...I just figured the clips were chronologically mistaken during the editing process, but who knows. Some people don't think the way we do.

i LOVE that video. i love the 8th gen coupes so much!

i want to make up a video like that too. but it seems like its A LOT too do very hurried or you'll have obvious changes in the temp of the light and shit like that, obvious shadow changes.

i wonder if these guys use 1 or 58 cameras for this shit...

Probably a bunch of cameras...
John...even if they switched the order...how about the 200 people the day before that used that wand?!?!

I ain't no hater, player! I think a couple of these dudes were at Stance Nation meet a few months back. Very nice rides...LOVE the 8th GENS...as you all already know. No way my fiancee could handle being that low, spending that kinda money for the setup or upkeep etc...

BAM...represent!!!

^ I always wonder the same thing. I feel like they either use really simple consumer equipment, or they're tricking us with mega bling pro-sumer gear.

Anyway, since we were on the topic of fisheyes in Sean's thread, I went out and used the photo mode on the GoPro to see what the static pics are like. This thing is so damn wide, it kept capturing my fingers in the corners lol. After seeing that, I ordered the LCD Bacpac attachment for it...I hate not being able to see what I'm about to capture. Here are some samples of my dirty ass car:

As you can see from the 2nd pic, when you hold the camera in portrait orientation, the barrel distortion is pretty extreme. The GoPro's lens captures 170 degrees if that puts it in perspective. Pictures are very clean and very large (11 megapixels). Each photo straight out of the camera was about 7MB.

Yeah, I'll let you know how I like the bacpac. It should be here Thursday. I almost with there was a grip attachment they could make for the GoPro too. It's too damn small for my hands lol.

Thanks Sean. I'll take more once I've learned how to properly contort my fingers behind the camera while simultaneously pressing the shutter release.

I like your fingers John...very nice "touch" and thanks for the chop...trust me, I WISH but as it stands the suspension is pretty harsh on stock shocks and she scrapes her bumper already.

John...you were on the fence about your red WORK lugs...
but in looking at that close up of your wheels...you NEED to get them. They would fill in that wheel hole so nicely!
Plus, they have the little W at the top to match the brand of rim. Super nice...
Now that I've done them by hand and done it right etc...I'm loving mine! J.

Your wheels were discontinued because they are ugly and no one bought them

Paint those calipers and then get matching lugs

Stop your brainwashing! I know, I still want them, but the red Work lugs will totally clash with the color I want to paint my calipers. I don't want to paint my calipers red...going with something a little more unique.

Shouldn't you be studying?

I'm still having trouble deciding on which shade I want to go with, there are so many...this is worse than choosing new paint for the living room with the wife.

I like that vossen video.
And at the end of the video when they all drive off together
all the exhaust sound at the same time was awesome.

LOL thanks. I'm the sales manager for our Asia markets. We export forest products (aka lumber). Almost ready to plan my next trip to China and Thailand. Anyone want to tag along?
