Honda of America : National recall for certain 2007-2008 model year tl vehicles

Just got it in the mail, already made appointment to take it to the dealer in july 2.This recall started june 15 of 2012,not to be confused with the previous older 3g tl power steering hose recall.

nhtsa recall 12v-222

REASON FOR NOTICE:
Acura has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2008 model year tl vehicles.Prolonged high under-hood temperatures and high power steering fluid temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate permaturely and may cause the hose to crack and leak power steering fluid.
Fluid leaking onto a hot catalytic converter will generate smoke and possibly lead to an under-hood fire.

-The dealer will inspect your vehicle and replace the power steering hose.

Look out for your notice in the mail and make that appointment.

Do it your self for $20.00.The part you going to need is a rear drivers door handle cover that comes painted to match your cars colour.

Tools needed:
- 90 degree small pick
- shirt or big rag(rolled up to create a mass)

Before

Install rag in between door handle to make it easier to remove old cover. With the pick pull old cover out.

Install new one in reverse order. The whole thing took literally 2 minutes. It's that easy.

Can you explain Me how it took you only 2min !? I do the switch and take me over 1 hour !! I take off all the interio trim !! .. A small srew hold the piece !!

And ... what's your trick if your battery is down .... Because it's my case now and I don't know what to do !!??

PM ME PLEASE !!

Steven Bell and swoosh, thanks guys.I will post pics after install.
swoosh, lol thanks for the tip.I knew that.
When bleeding front Brembo brakes:
-Start with the passenger side(the furthest away from the master cylinder)
-always bleed the inner caliper bleeder first
-then the outter bleeder
-repeat the same on driver side caliper
-always keep master cylinder reservoir up to level

I was just reading your thread about the recall and got worried because I never received anything in the mail, so I called the hotline and they told me they had the wrong address and that my car IS on the recall list! Thank you so much! I just don't think I could survive seeing my child go up in flames! Thank you again!

Steven Bell,i know i totally was the one who did that.just so dumb, pisses me off.

swoosh i would love to upgrade the exhaust system, but i got two problems with that:
-Most systems are too loud and my wife has chronic migranes. She would never want to get in the car.
-All the systems out there are just too damn expensive
Plus its not leaking ....yet.

Brembos finally on the car.Wife decided to catch me in action without telling me.

Wife's car in the background.

Notice the upgrade dot 4 brake fluid under the hood
