XLR8 V1 vs V2???

I used to own an xlr8 V1 base exhaust. It was resonated but the drone was way too much for me so i switched out to a comptech. Now I am doing the type S lip conversion and am in the market for quads. I heard there is a difference in drone technology between the xlr8 V1 and V2. Anyone have experience with this? For those that own a V2 how satisfied are you with it. Ive had friends with greddy and atlp v1 exhausts but never sat in a car with an xlr8 V2. Would you guys go with Atlp v2 or Xlr8 V2 in this situation? If I get the Xlr8 V2 I will be getting the resonated version so if you have any feedback please share.

Hey!

I bought the V2's non res....initially I thought it was a little too much so I ended up getting the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator.

I wish i kept in NON...but anyhow...here are both videos
hope it helps
Still sounds great though

Here is a video of NON res

and with the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator.

Our mufflers now incorporate Purge Resonance Technology, which has almost eliminated drone from our systems. If you are at all concerned about cabin noise you will always want to get the resonated system too.

Are the people that are experiencing drone mostly 5AT? I've got the original resonated version on a 6MT and the drone is minimal. I know it did drone a little more before adding the j pipe and race pipe.

Not at all, I've had it now for about a year and a half and have not had issues with stickers or the fuzz. (knock knock)

and as to the other OEM mesh... I thought it was just rubber that was made to look like mesh...
I sorta prefer the "grill" I have, plus it was $5...sorta a DIY, to each their own, right

mrlal8, I have the V2 XL8R Quad Non-Resonated Exhaust and it sounds very sweet to my hears. Its aggressive when shifting through gears in low mid and high rpms (all depends on your driving) but quiet when just crusing by.

I'd go with the ATLPs. If you didn't like the V1 of the XLR8, why would you trust V2? I went with the V1 based on a video clip posted of how it was going to sound. It sounded nothing like that on my car. Turns out the production run used a smaller resonator. I got that from the source.
