Lightbulb Replace mid-muffler with a Performace Exhaust!?

Hey Peeps,

It's been awhile! I'm itching to make another minor mod to my 3rd Gen TL. I've already installed a K&N Typhoon intake and I love the sound but i'm looking for a little more. Nothing too aggressive as I still want to keep it respectable.
So here's my idea...instead of removing the mid-muffler with a straight pipe how about replacing it with a Performace Muffler like a Flowmaster to give it a little more GROWL!?

Any thoughts or has anyone tried this?

i did the midmuffler mod ... replaced the midmuffler with a magnaflow, barely changed the sound if any at all ... if u want a different deeper sound, catback is probably the way to go

Get rid of the mid-muffler altogether...

The resonator is what will change the tone of your exhaust.

Go on youtube and look for Stage 2 and Stage 3 exhaust videos of TLs.

You know I was thinking about doing some exhaust work too but wanted to know how the result would actually be....it would be expense to just try and see. I want to do kinda like the RV6 concept with true dual set up but with out spending $1,200 on a set up. I've currently cut out the mid muffler and resonator but want to make a true dual setup. I want to go from the J-pipe/down pipe, cut the connector out (where it goes to one single pipe) and make 2 separate pipes go all the way back to the mufflers. Get it? Do you think that would sound to harsh or what? I have a TL-S btw.
