Thumbs up XLR8 Engine Mounts & ETD Installed - WOW

So I figured I would let everyone know my Review on some of my more recent mods : XLR8 Engine Mounts & ETD.

The Tl I installed these on is my 2005 Acura Tl - 6spd - Navi - Brembo. ( I am in the process of selling my Type-S , to get my hands on a new 2014 Sh-Awd 6-SPD. Anyways.... )

First off I would like to thank Josh for this VERY nice mod.
Also on getting my goods packed and shipped VERY fast !
And im from Canada ( EH ! )

Ok so I did not get a complete kit. I ordered (2) mounts 75a from Josh for the Front and side of Engine. The rear I got locally from someone who did NOT want HARSH VIBRATIONS. He ordered a complete kit from Josh XLR8 ( 62 ) but only installed the front and side engine mount.

So my Front is 75 , my side is 75 & my rear is 62.

I must say that I was a tad worried about how the TL would react to such a mod. I have installed MANY different engine mounts mods from : Miatas, to civics/integras, talons to vw's etc .

I quickly went over everything and installed the next item.
The NRG XLR8 ETD. I adjusted in and test fitted it then applied loc-tite where I felt it could be used.

I started the TL and I was AMAZED ! So many people on this Forum have been complaining that the car is ; shaky, rattles, serious vibrations " oh dont get the 75 kit " etc etc....
I was a little nervous as some of my other cars that have engine mount upgrades are just stupid stiff and vibrate the dash just looking at it lol.

Anyways my TL has none of that. You can notice a difference but nothing major at all. From start up you dont really feel any vibrations. I would say from 0-10 with stock mounts being 0 , this set-up is at a 2. If your a driver you can notice it a little bit, but if your a passenger you can't tell at all.
I've had people in the car b4/after didn't notice anything until I told them. My wife didn't even notice anything until I made her take it for a spin.

To all the people who notice a HUGE difference, either something is wrong. Or you seriously need to learn how to drive properly. If you don't take off right it will jerk/vibrate ( a little - a lot , depending on how bad you take off ) . But if you really know how to drive a manual and take off properly you won't notice much.

I have installed these a little while ago and they have about 2,500 kms on them. They still feel like the day they were installed.

I can't really comment on the NRG XLR8 ETD , because it was installed at the same time as the XLR8 Engine mounts.

I would also like to say my car does have High kms, and NONE of the stock engine mounts were broken.

Driving the TL now is much much more pleasureable, whether you dirve it easy or if your REALLY moving , the whole car is transformed. There is NO MORE sluggish, loose transitions.
When you shift quickly, you NO LONGER feel the entire engine shifting and loose. Its accurate and solid. Feels nice, I don't know why the car couldn't come like this from the factory.

Anyways no pics, as Im sure you all know how these XLR8 mounts / ETD look like. All I have to say is.... don't be worried and get this mod. You will trully enjoy shifting and pushing the TL again....

( Please Note : I haven't tried these mounts with the a/c on yet, I rarely put the a/c on. Im more of a Sunroof / windows down kinda guy )

I have the full 75a kit and I agree. You only really feel a difference when the A/C is on, and even this settles down quite a bit after a ~500-1000 mile break-in period. Love the extra stability over the stock setup

Those that have issues with vibrations most likely have the 5AT Transmission as the transmission and torque converter is what causes it, so installing just the Front and Side minimizes the vibrations.

The 6MT are the ones that can install all mounts and not have issues with vibrations.

Installed the side and front so far. that took 1hour. 45 mins to get to the front since I had to play tetris to get it out. The side was stupid easy. Make sure you have a wooden block and a jackstand ready. Also a hammer to help loosen up the old mount is also a good idea.

Didn't do the rear because I was tired and it was starting to rain. 6mt Accord here

Also go to autozone, advance, etc to get vaccum line cap and cap the mount vaccum line from the manifold side.

i thought the motor mounts greatly improve the handle and feel of the car. but i have to disagree with the people saying there are no vibrations. i have a manual and the vibrations were so bad during idle with the A/C that i felt embarrassed to have anyone in the car and my wife even got car sick from it. my dash would vibrate so bad i could literally see it moving

i ended up putting stock back in the rear and now everything is great again, i don't even notice they are there.

overall they are very good mounts, but to others who are thinking about going this route with their DD, there will be a difference in vibrations, it's manageable without the A/C but once you turn that little guy on, big changes. and i bought used mounts so they had already been through the breaking in period so that wasn't the reason. the guy i bought it from had to get rid of them because his dad couldn't handle the vibrations.

that being said, if anyone wants to buy a rear xlr8 mount (62A) let me know

Yeah, I've got just the 62A front and side installed and there's definitely a marked increase in NVH. It's not horrible, but it's mildly annoying. It's like it lost its inherent Honda driveline smoothness and feels more like a VQ35 driveline. There's more vibration in the shifter at higher RPMs and a mild seat vibration at all times.

Can't really agree with you.
But then again, I will try it with the A/C button on and report back.

Don't know how your FEELING vibrations in the seat at " ALL TIMES " .
You only have 62A front / Side with the stock rear mount ?

Could be your REAR MOUNT is broken ?
Like I said I am running 75A Front / Side Mount & 62A rear mount & XLR8 ETD and I DO NOT experience any of that.... then again I DO NOT use a/c often. I will try it with the a/c on and see how it goes.

Rear mount is fine.

Don't beat yourself up over it. It's a highly subjective situation, and tolerance will vary wildly from person to person. I'm certainly not complaining about the mild vibrations, since wheel hop is pretty much eliminated now.

You shoulda held out a bit more. Mine was pretty bad at 1st too, shook and rattled really bad, but slowly settled down and after about 2 months it's all good now. Yours probably weren't broken in all the way. I torqued the center bolts to 40ft*lbs too, so not loose.

I had them on for over 5 months. They were for sure broken in. Like I said it was manageable normally but with ac on it was pretty bad at idle. I had to turn the ac off everytime I was at idle with someone else in the car
