Thanks for the info. Now, as far as the cats, is that something I can bolt off/on for the inspection if necessary? Does it increase sound a lot? I'm trying to find a happy medium between racing around, and driving the family around.

I had a j-pipe and test pipe... honestly... there's almost no difference in sound until you open her open... and even then the VteC kicking in is still louder. I don't know about running precats to j-pipe and test pipe though. I think other's have said there is a rasp? I forgot. And the precats ain't a simple bolt off and bolt on deal. The j-pipe and test pipe are, but the precats are a multi-hour job apparently.

Pretty much any exhaust shop will be able to do it. I would do it but I don't really have the facilities.

It is a good deal lighter around 10LBS

Just coat the bolts and studs in anti seize and you can swap out a jpipe in 20 minutes. I do in all the time in parking lots in between dyno runs. Jpipe and test pipe doesn't really increase the sound level just improves the tone.

^ Yes you feel definitely gain HP and TQ with this j pipe and test/race pipe. After I installed my j pipe (on a 5AT), my low end are much more responsive! Loved it...

As for the test/race pipe, do a little digging around this site. A ton of people has asked that question.

Yes pricing is the same.

Get a j-pipe, race pipe, and precats and you'll feel a huge difference. I love it.

Yes I can't get you an exact price yet since the precats are being redesigned as well. Check back in a few weeks.

I talk to Al all the time so Im pretty sure he knows alot and if anything he has your number. Hes gonna be helping me with it. I got the J35A8 but I just need a decent shell. I also have a 5AT tranny with it. Ive been saving up for a bike for the summer rather than looking for an EG shell. Maybe soon Ill give in and just get a used bike for like $5000 and get buy a shell.

Anyways to get back on topic, when does the V2 drop?

The merger definitely looks better Richie, nice improvement. Can't wait for the dynos. What's this I hear about the PC deletes being resigned? Does this mean we may see similar top end with no loss in torque?

Not too much cheaper, I am pretty much giving them away. I am sure we can work something out.

They will be the same just made of thicker material.

My exhaust system on my type-s is completely stock, would it be worth my while to get the j-pipe and test pipe? I don't plan on modding the exhaust any further than this b/c this is a work car.

Not to be an ass, but this question has been asked over and over again, even in this thread. It would take 5 minutes to read the 3 pages and you would find your answer in less than that because I think it's been asked on every page.

Not to be an ass but its not the most recommended thing to do.....

when you upgrade your jpipe and race pipe from a 2.25" thichness to a 2.5" thickness pipe then your exhaust is 2.25" it pretty much suffocates your engine since the air doesnt flow out as smoothly......

am not saying you wont get or see performance changes but i wouldnt do it, if i have ABSOLUTE NO PLANS for an exhaust in the future.....

but yeah if i want to get an exhaust in couple months or a year, i would get this....Richie is a great dude....makes great products.....I vouch for his products and him as well....and the price is a steal....compare all his prices to ATLP and XLR8....he puts their price to SHAME.....

^^ I have the Jpipe/test pipe on my stock exhaust, as do many others, and there were gains noticed. Just because it's bottlenecked where the stock piping is does not mean that you won't see gains, it means you won't see the FULL potential of the mods. You will definitely see a gain, and definitely worth it IMO. And swoosh stop bein' an ass. Lol jp

hmm can't wait for dyno's to compare it to the ATLP and XLR8 V1's.

btw i heard that the first RV6 jpipe lost a lot of low end torque x_X is this true? and will it be resolved hopefully?

^^^ as far as I know the ATLP was the highest in HP and TQ gains....XLR8 was like 1-2 whp and 1-2 wtq less....and RV6 was further 1-2 whp and wtq less.... but RV6 sat very snugly and didnt hang low (big big issue with me coz I am lowered a lot and I scrap practically everything, FIRESTONE couldnt get my car on the rack for an ALIGNMENT ) at all....plus it was the best price.....

with the Rv6 V2 i expect him to get closer to or even more that the ATLP system.....plus i bet it sits snug and its priced perfect.....I would choose RV6 over ATLP and XLR8....

I have never heard of anyone loosing TQ on our auto V6 Accord we gained 5WHP and 7WTQ with just the jpipe.

From what I've read, adding an exhaust system to the pre/j/test pipe kit gets you that low end punch back. I have the full RV6 package and while it definitely loves the top end, it certainly isn't slower out of the hole.

And I don't think it's anywhere near a 4 whp/tq split between the j-pipes. Look at the 3 pipes together and the space available...not a lot of room for extreme variation in the build process (don't take that the wrong way, builders - each of you build amazing gear).
