IIRC it was more last time I checked when you added in things like wideband O2s.

springs - see below
retainers - springs and retainers are usually 300 ish for titanium ones
cams - around 700-800 no matter where you go....
bigger valves - 500ish

you are looking at 2600-2700 bucks....without touching the bottom end....

if you are just planning on a pnp job of the heads and nothing, i wudnt recommend venturing into this at all.....you are not considering the labor/time for the build.....if you do it yourself you are looking at 10 hours of removing time and around 10 hours of install + 1 week downtime for the heads to be done.....otherwise another 500-600 for someone to do the build....

so you are now closer to 3200 bucks....
okay i will let the shop do the gaskets!.

port and polish - $450 - per head assuming 900....
gaskets - $200 - i wont dont skip this
springs and retainers im looking at around $550.
cams - around $700-800
bigger valves - 500ish
+ another i believe 300ish for the type s cams that im going to get regrinded.
+ labor which i got quoted for around 400-450 debating if i want to do it myself with the remove and reinstall.

so yeah.. its getting super pricey already.
Talk to John at KMS engineering (shoot me a text with your email address and will get you guys introduced)....he had some deal for the springs/retainers/valves....i think they were coming to 600-700 for everything....so you will save there....

plus they do regrind cams and pnp heads....they are a little pricey on that part but they have been known on the Honda platform....they can also bump up the CR if needed.....

so for the same 3200 you will have to ship the heads to them and they will do everything for ya....shot me a text with your email address...

hahaha yeah dont forget the ECU....

the ECU with knock monitor is 1500 and by the time you add AFR monitoring and say fuel pump and injectors, you are looking at ~2200....

I would highly recommend getting the ECU/injectors/AFR/fuel pump first....and then looking into the build....just my

btw i just send an email to John and included you on it....you can take it from there buddy....he is a nice guy to deal with....

^^^ we are looking to buy a house in the next few months....i would urge you to do the same as the interest rates will go up around next year...and with only the difference in the interest you pay you can buy a TL with the bottom end stroked and a turbo sitting up top !!! LOL...

house is the reason why i stopped my build and went with the DIET mods which were mostly free... :thumbsup

just gave you some food for thought bro....rest is all upto you

i dont mind owning a house when am 22 if am gonna save 60-80K over 30 years and just in interest....and when the market shifts to a sellers market you will end up paying more for the house....

just stating the reasons we getting a house putting errything on the side....

You cats don't really get out much do you.

Paul is huge on the "V6 Performance" forum. His screen name is NVA-AV6.

Go to the forum and search for post by him. Heavy-duty information.

For anyone doing engine builds (versus simple bolt-ons) should be hanging out on that forum, not Acurazine.

Copy and paste this link into your browser. Remove the red X before submitting. Acurazine blocks this link. So, this is why I must disguise it with the red X.

IN PIC ABOVE - Contour some pieces of sponge to act as breather filters. These filters block trash from entering the fuel tank while allowing the tank to breath.

It is time consuming, but the metal line needs to be removed the save that last pound or so. This metal line runs from the EVAP to the engine bay.

Doing the Evap Delete is fairly straight forward. Just disconnect stuff that is directly connected to the canister. Be careful to Not unplug anything that is not directly attached to the canister. There are fuel lines in this area. So this is why you need to be careful.

After the removal, check for fuel leaks by turning on the key. With the key on (engine not started), crawl back under there to inspect for any leaks. I highly doubt there will be any leaks, just a precaution.

See these links too -

I have had no drawbacks from the EGR Delete. No increase in detonation. No drop in gas economy. See link below for more information.

Guys after several months of saving money and staying away from the tl community I was able to save enough money to pay off some of the dept that I got myself into suspended license impounded car.long story short I was stupid and didn't pay for a speeding ticket and got a bench warrant.1600 in one day. So while I was gone I actually removed my j pipe so that will be going back on soon I have my under drive pulley which is still new and they block spacer and I'm ordering the Isc rollovers in a week so I'm back to modding but this time much slower
