Mmmmk...well it really depends on your exhaust and the setup, not on just what kind of mufflers they are. They'll be loud as really any other muffler, alot depends on resonators blah blah blah.

A lot of shops will charge a minimum labor rate for this type of job.
Best to just ask around. At some point you are going to have to realize that not all shops have cheap as shit labor and just deal with the normal install rate.

DON'T Do that!! Several members including myself had nothing but problems trying to get them from that sight. I was warned by another member just after I placed my order. They did not have the resonator, and never even emailed or called to let me know. I continuously emailed (because there is no phone number to call 
) for about 1.5-2 weeks and did not get a response to one question until I told them to cancel my order!! carpartsplanet.com is NOT the place you want to get one from!!!

Near as I can tell that's the basic local shop rate. If that's the boat you're in, you're going to have to suck it up an pay the going rate.
I must've hit 20 shops. Highest was $150. Lowest was $75 plus $15 for pipe.

When I was doing exhaust I would have probably charged 70 bucks to install if the customer brought in their own part - and 35 if they were using our part.
I'd say if you bought you own muffler you should expect to not spend more than 100 on the install, 50-70 if you are lucky.
Or, go to a shop that has one or two people working Saturday, show up right before they close with $20 cash and it likely will be done.

Ok I just purchaed the Dynomax Resonator today from this site:

called it in via phone to make sure they have it in stock and they did, so this is a very good price from what I can see. Many of the cheaper places are on back order so I didnt chose that route.
My question now is I was wondering if this resonator can be painted with one of those rust proof grey metallic paints they sell at the auto store to prevent it from rusting or would that afect anything?

Stage 4.
Loudest setup out of all 3. Has a bit of a rasp, similar to M3 exhaust setup.
Stock exhaust.

Remove stock resonator. Replace with a 2.5" straight pipe.
Cost: Can be anywhere from $40 - $60.
Note: If you live in a climate that is prone to rain, snow, rust, Stainless steel pipping is highly recommended.
This also does not prevent you from passing smog, as it does not alter the characteristics of the catalytic converters, but it does not mean that this is street legal either as it does alter the stock setup of the exhaust.

sometime this week i'll be getting the magnaflow mufflers with stock tips welded on to my stage 3. sound clips inc ~ gives you guys some more options/info

i think that installing both a new resonaotor, removing the mid muffler with a straight pipe and replacing both rear exhausts with magnaflow. the resonator is part number 12640 and costs 87 ish and both mufflers cost 90 ish each so about 300 total. it sounds better than just replacing the resonator in my opinion
