That would be the cat on bank 2. The one I'm dealing with is Bank 1 which is wedged between the firewall. 1 bolt is visible to the shield from underneath next to the j-pipe. I can get my hands on the cat from the top through the strut bar. Is there any engine mount removal technique before I sit there trying to do the impossible? Can they be cut off? I just need to remove it whether it comes out in pieces or not. It's in a tight spot.

Spoke to a couple of shops and they all recommended leaving the heat shield on. It is located in a tight spot close to the firewall. Took a 6 inch diameter hose clamp and wrapped it around. No more noise.
The heat shield can also be removed but there is no room for a dremmel or any other cutting tool, not sure how that would work. The top 2 nuts can be accessed after removing the strut bar. The bottom has one that is easily visible and the other in a tricky spot. Worst case that could be drilled out, no dremmel would fit without making a mess of things.

I think I am having the same issue WDPanda. Would you be able to post a picture of what your heat shield looks like with the clamp on it? This sounds like too easy of a fix lol. I want to make sure I'm looking at the same thing.

You could always do a wire tie to keep it from rattling

I sold that car since posting. Its a simple 6 inch or two 3 inch hose clamps to hold it agaisnt each other. An air ratchet will make your life easy.
