Question J35A8 from RL to my Base MT?

Hello,

As I said in the other thread, my engine got hydro locked, so I was looking for an engine and found a 2005 RL. I don't want to mess with the ECU stuff, what parts should be needed to swap? I was thinking in using only the crank, rods and pistons from the RL as for the block, in the case of the heads, just swap the cams. This would work? Swap of the entire engine would require me to buy clutch housing and ECU right? Has anybody info on J35A8 -> J32A3 Manual Transmission?

Another option to use just head and block, but still the housing fore the clutch is different? The RL is Auto...

Thanks in advance!

Do you have a 07-08 TL. If not it’s not a direct bolt on since Honda/Acura changed the bell housing. So it will only bolt on to the 07-08 TL/s auto or mt

Good point, I forgot to mention the year, is a 2004. Ok then I'll look for a 07-08 bell housing, there are some of those base cars here on the junkyards, but not a single type s.

thanks for the info

dont forget to reshim the differential and mainshaft if you swap the clutch case.
