seriously. this is gonna be the greatest thread ever
thanks to the OP, the installer and the knowledgable people.... some ground breaking stuff... as you know, i was planning this out alot too....
yes, and no.... luckily, because acura (honda) F*ED up the automatic transmission soooooo badly in the 99-01 AV6 ,CL-p\s TL-p\s... they did some solid upgrades to the 3G auto transmission....
go lurk around the 2G forum, and see how many people had/have transmission problems.... look into 3G problems & fixes... not too much trouble in there, eh?
they beefed these trannys up, so I think a blown tl-s 5AT can handle it.. the tq convertor may be another issue... maybe we should get Dr.Evil involved on the 3G (((anybody else on here remember him and his terrible tranny tq convertors????))
so anyways, the 6SPD still has a LSD installed... one thing we will always be missing in the 5AT world.... but dont forget about the wonderful 3rd gear issue with our cars 6SPD and the Civic Si's..... so each tranny has pro's and con's.... plus, the gradelogic kicks ASS in the 07+ 5AT.

So were looking at a pretty expensive s/c build for the tl-s. My question is how will the top half of the motor hold up to 7 psi. We all know that the bottom half can be built out but what about valves and springs all that other stuff. I am almost to the point of buying a short block from Acura and builing out the motor for turbo after now realizing the cost of having this semi bolt on s/c kit work and other things that are still needed to do this. My next question is with the ECU cracked can i add a piggy back system to help with the fuel and timing mapping. Tuning has always made give up on thinking about building a turbo system out. So this has givin me a big grin with wanting to fab up my own custom turbo system knowing that tuning is now a option.

The cost of the supercharger was expensive, the modification were easy, and fairly cheap. I used the ct engineering acm. The CAR runs great. Still waiting on the dyno, to confirm, but NO knocking, no common lean issues. The only part i think really sucks is the rev limit of 5500

The s/c kit was expensive, the required modifications were inexpensive, we went the ct engineering acm. The only crappy thing about that is that it is non tunable. But then again, it comes programmed for 6 pounds of boost. We are only ar 4-5 pounds for now. I am looking into better fuel upgrades, but at this point the acm works great ct makes a great product. The fuel regulator needs a lot more finessing, because it is different then the non type s

Stillhere, I like your idea w/ the guages, but if I go that route, I'd like to just fab up a piece to sit in the center channel speaker hole. I mean, how useful is that speaker anyway?

So with that being said i might just buy the short block from Acura and start to build out the bottom end maybe get a little more displacement out of the 3.5 to 3.7 with solid pistons and cylinder sleeves to handle more boost. But it still all comes down to being able to tune everything that is going in.
