Progress Rear Sway Bar

Hey guys. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that Progress release their 24MM adjustable RSB for the TL 04+. I am probably going to be the first dealer to get them since I placed my order 2 months ago!!! Check out the special I am running if you are looking for one. BTW I should get my shipment in about 1-2 weeks. Progress was just powdercoating hte bars when I spoke to them on Tuesday.

So how does this bar compare with the comptech one?

Certainly need specs. Hollow tube or solid bar? Hardness of steel?
That's a beefy bar at 24mm. Quite a jump up from the A/T's lowly 17mm

I would want it just because but can 2mm make that much of a difference?

Well hopefully the poly bushings that comes with the progress RSB will be better than the comptech RSB bushings. Definitely interested, was going to get the comptech but if this is just as good I might pick this up instead.

Shit, here we go again, more toyz

Josh this sounds interesting but I already have a Comptech bar, what would be the benefits of that extra 2mm in diameter, better bushings and the adjustability of this bar? Also the front stock bar on AT at least is 25mm+ so this bar makes it very close to the diameter of the front bar, so won't I need to upgrade a front bar too now to get a better balance??? H&R supposingly makes a 28mm front bar for TL but I think it's backordered indefinitely.

Btw high recommends for Josh here, he hooked me up with a lot of stuff and did an excellent job, as always, on my blower and other installs. Plus he can do and get almost anything so feel comfy to work with him, this guy earned his reputation!

Progress Technology Flawless!!!

I have Progress Technology's prototype RSB on my vehicle as well as the prototype sport springs and all I can say is, IT'S WONDERFUL. The rear sway is 2 position adjustable and I have it on the stiffest setting and it's beautiful. Definitely recommend this setup as a BETTER alternative to Comptechs. No squeaky noises from the bushings...strong mount to compensate the stiffness.

As for the springs, just as flawless. The springs are great, nice subtle drop, not bouncy or too harsh, I have 19" axis hiros with 235/35/19 rubbers and i have a little less than a finger gap, evenly at all 4 corners. And especially Ed in R&D, a wonderful person, VERY friendly, and an extremely knowledgable person. GO PROGRESS TECHNOLOGY!

It is a solid bar and is mild steel.

The only hollow bars Progress offers are the 05+ Mustang front and the RX-8 front bars. Everything else is solid and they use mild steel for everything.

2 extra mm. The adjustability of the stiffness of the RSB setting and better bushings.

And thank you for the compliments. Thanks for your business.

i dont know about going from 22 to 24, but quite a few of the MT folks chimed in that they noticed a decent upgrade going from the 20 to the 22.

Yes it should fit all TL's 04-07. I haven't confirmed fitment on an 07 yet but the part #s are the same for the 06-07 TL 6 spd so I'm sure it will fit.

Are there any dis-advantages on having it on the stiffer setting out of the 2?

When can we get a pic of the bar, and specifically, the bushings?

I went on to the canyon last week and the rear slide out a bit due to the dealer put too much air pressure on my rear when I check my engine oil last last weekend and I dont think the TL is very understeer(N/A one) maybe you can try half floor your car while exiting the corner instead of go WOT when you exiting the corner.

I have done that with the TeinSS and comptech sway but with 4 season tires. I was cruising with my friend's G35 and we were going around some bends up the mountain. The G35 was drifting while I followed. I was surprised my tail swung out at the same time as the G35. My other friend following in the STi thought I was drifting too! Everyone was surprised.

However when I was running the TL on the track with the Advan track tires, the TL understeers quite a bit and a stiffer bar in the rear should help.

Just ordered my Progress RSB from my local shop. They were told the bars should be back from being powdercoated and shipped out by this Friday. Hopefully if all goes as planned I will have it on the car by next Wed.

I'm dependin' on your for a review - I'm really interested and just too damn cheap to put myself out there without some positive comments about this thing.

so basically all the bar does is keep the ass end from swinging? or it just helps handling all around?

FYI... although the Progress bar comes with Polyeurethane bushings, here are some quality Energy Suspension bushings with a greasable mount that would work with this application. Many have installed these with the Comptech bar with great success.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

and they're red...

They're both polyeurathane... The energy is "better" in that the bushing is greasable without have to take anything apart.

fyi, be careful with this bar, if your car is lowered and/or you drive aggressively, the stiffer bar will pop the oem end links out of their sockets. I'm currently looking for some beefier end links
