Where did you order the BLOX from and how much?

Can you provide me a link regarding their endlinks for our TL?

Thanks!

Hey Rod is the difference really that noticeable? I've been thinking about this mod lately and can't make up my mind, I currently have the Comptech bar back there and that seems enough for me. I don't know... Hey nice write up btw

Plus all this weak links talk, damn

I also know MOOG products, they are just factory replacement links as far as I know

Hey ACTROS,

If you're happy with the Comptech bar, then why change it really??? keep it...

I upgraded because I'm really into suspension work (I just had to try it)... Plus when I was running my 20" wheels (tires were tucked into the fender a little) and taking aggressive turns, I would rub a little due to the body roll... I know that with this bar (at this stiff setting) I can take curves at least 10 mph faster with the rear end staying planted....IMO

does that mean... Progress RSB will be a bit better than CT?

also.. will lowering the car kill anything? eg. TEIN SS

it depends on what you mean by 'better'

I know that the Progress bar is larger so it has the potential to be 'stiffer' but I'm not sure of the CT bar's thickness so I can't comment on how much 'stiffer'

Honestly... any upgrade over the wimpy stock one is a huge improvement.

I'm buying a set to test and see if they fit our TL. You might want to wait until I do this.

The Progress bar also has 2 settings in addition to the fact that is 2mm larger.

For those of you asking about what kind of difference you would feel from changing over to the Progress RSB to the Comptech but there was a member who did so and he said in another thread it felt like the difference from changing from his OEM bar to the Comptech. I can't say personally b/c I haven't felt the difference but that is what he said. Maybe wait for another opinion though.

You really should qualify that statement that this was a fellow with a MT car...not an automatic. He said that the difference was about the same he felt when he upgraded his MT TL from OEM to comptech...which is only like +2MM over (same as Progress bar to Comptech)....therefore...folks in the AT cars, frankly, will even notice even a BIGGER change than that going from OEM! Basically...its a good thing all around!

wow guys!! this is what i've been waiting for. i have a 6speed and the 2mm difference with the CT RSB just didn't seem like much of a big difference. hopefully the progress RSB will make a noticeable difference.

few questions though.
Where can i order this progress RSB?
How much are they exactly?
I have the A-Spec suspension, should i really get better end links??
Where do i get beefier end links??

damn, i'm excited, can't wait!!!!! I was about to order the rest of my aspec body kit, but i might just keep it on hold for this mod. performance before looks baby!!

Edit...

Ok...yep....most all of em are in the first post dude? Do you need me to read it to you as well? j/k. But really...this thread is NOT long? Read first...ask questions later...

Hey guys. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that Progress release their 24MM adjustable RSB for the TL 04+. I am probably going to be the first dealer to get them since I placed my order 2 months ago!!! Check out the special I am running if you are looking for one. BTW I should get my shipment in about 1-2 weeks. Progress was just powdercoating hte bars when I spoke to them on Tuesday.

Actually it wasnt a manual car that he's talking bout. The guy he's talking bout is Rodney and he has a WDP Auto and went from a Comptech bar to Progress and changed the bushing that come with the Progress bar.

I stand corrected then....I was under the impression that it was a MT car....my fault totally. I was just thinking though that the difference would be more defined even more with an AT in comparison....so I thought I was helping him out there. Eventually...I am likely to change to this bar myself...but gonna wear the shit out of the comptech bar first this year most likely. Tossing money at your ride is good and all...but there is no substitution for seat time. Fact is....most of the people on this forum spend WAY too much money on their car in comparison to their actual driving skills as a whole. What they think they are doing in most cases is improving things...when in actuality many times what they are doing is tossing their learning curve out the window and overdriving the abilities of their skills and car. Everybody thinks they know what they are doing and are the shizzle behind the wheel....but about 95% of the time, in fact...they dont have a clue and dont ever get close to getting the competency and control behind the wheel they could have if they just left well enough alone and some actual driving techniques that would help them 500% more than the parts they are pouring into their cars. I could show you stark examples of this each and every week at the autocrosses.....they run one week....cram more money into it...come back....try it again....cram more money into the car...come back...try it again...ect ect. never really learning anything outside of where to shop and the pricing of parts....all the while...their times dont move one iota or sometimes even get worse as they try to relearn their car.

Use teflon tape on the bar and grease bushings up with the tube you get (use whole tube); that's what i did, should last very long time...

Question...

How much larger is a 2007 Type-S bar versus my 2005 AT bar?

Is it worth upgrading my AT to a used Type-S bar?

I did a sway bar upgrade on the old '95 T-Bird and it made a HUGE difference. I found I was turning in to soon after the bar was upgraded. I broke many end links (3) and soon found out there was incredible movement in the IRS rubber bushings. With the rear drive and lots of torque, the end links would be forced in a direction they were not indended to go in. I would shear the heads off the 8" long Grade 5 bolts.

I eventually went with a larger diameter Grade 8 bolt and Energy Suspension bushings and spacer tube. That solved the breaking problem I was having with the end links.

Just food for thought. I don't know how the end links are failing in the above posts.

A-Train the Type S (M/T or A/T) has the same size RSB as the 04-06 TL M/T. So it's 20MM. Your stock bar is 17MM so it's a difference of 3MM.

Hey, A-train why don't buy my Comptech bar (22mm), it would yield a great improvement in cornering! When you compare that bar to the tiny stock bar, you'll wonder what was Acura thinking, economy, understeer, definitely not flat cornering! I say don't worry about the endlinks, I never had a problem with the bar I'm currently running. Plus, Progress tested their 24mm adjustable bar and they had no link problem, they say, and it's a bigger and stiffer bar too!

I'm going to get that 24mm sucker, Josh( Excelerate) here is great at spending my money, thank you very much!

Do we have consensus yet on whether or not it's ok to use the stiffest setting while leaving everything else OEM? Or would it be better to stick with the softer setting?

Long Term use Update - Progress RSB

Hello all, I have had the prototype Progress Rear Sway Bar installed in my car for almost a year now and I have had it in the stiffest setting since day 1 and my links are in tact, no squeaks from any of the bushings, no signs of wear or corrosion. The vehicle feels as tight as day one and with my prototype Progress Sport Springs (still w/ stock struts) my ride is a perfect melody between performance and ride quality. for Progress Technology. Those guys definitely have their ducks in a row. Thanks Ed!

Excelerate, do you have any RSB in stock? i hadn't known about this thread before, and the company i ordered from originally now has cancelled my order after 3 weeks, telling me they have to wait another 6-8 weeks for stock.

This would be a RSB For the 04' TL. If there's stock PM me immediately and i'll get payment out

Progress RSB is a very nice upgrade, you can tell its really stiff. i would say the difference is just as noticable as upgrading stock 6MT to CT bar.

I will probably be one of the first to get them in stock but it will be about another 4 weeks.
