come on flydog, you don't have to start this stuff with everyone man, if you don't agree with what he said say "I don't think this is a good idea" or just don't say anything! you've got some great things to add to this forum, but comments like that don't add anything.

It goes way beyond good v. bad idea. Driving 100 mph down the highway and slamming on the brakes while yanking the wheel is just plain retarded, not to mention a felony (at least in Arizona).

Also, this person is clearly a danger to himself an others around him especially because he has removed every safety feature from his car with the exception of seatbelts.

Morons like him kill themselves and the innocent people around them every day of the week. If someone had stood up and said "yes you are a moron" then maybe some of them would be alive today. And even if he only kills himself, his family still has to live on food stamps for the rest of their lives.

A few months ago, two similar morons (one in a Mercedes the other in a Mustang) were racing each other on a city street here in Arizona. They broadsided an old man turning left and killed him. Now they are both sitting in jail facing second degree murder charges. Not only did they ruin an innocent person's life, but they ruined their own lives.

Maybe you should think about the consequences before saying stupid crap like "if you disagree, then keep quiet." That makes you part of the problem, not the solution.

There are way too many stupid people out there, but I doubt starting a fight on some forum will make them any less inept. Although on the freeways here driving 80 people ride your ass so there is a lot that can be said about stupidity. Most of these people couldn't handle a go cart but they are allowed to do 90 and a public road. It's not so much the speed that bothers me its the chances people take while driving at those speeds that is of concern. I drive at high speeds 75-80 but I wont do so with my front end driven up someones ass and nor will I change lanes quickly or weave in and out of traffic like its going to get me there any faster.
It would be interesting to see the results of a crash test on a car missing a bumper.

Anyways this is supposed to be a peaceful forum and the topic is Rear sway bar not lets debate about the sanity of a member.

Thanks REY. Well phrased response. You summed-up the way I feel exactly. During my daily commute, I drive along side of folks that have no respect for my safety nor their safety (naive of the danger). They are willing to rip-off my bumper (cutting me off) to get around me to just save a fraction of a second of thier time.

When I drive spiritly, I do so for fun. This means only when traffic (that is, the lack of traffic) allows for it. I do spirited things when I have several lanes with no traffic on either side of me and plenty of space in front of me. At no time do I ever come close to cutting-off anyone. When I get on my brakes hard, it is for fun and to scrub-off the speed before I get close (many, many car lenghts) to anyone else on the road.

Cheers

Rear sway bar link

Should the bolt on the rear sway bar links be able to turn?? I pulled the nut off ok with the passenger side but the driver side one spins with the nut. I can get it off if I need to and I'm sure I can complete the install fine but I was wondering if I should replace it.

Don't worry about the question I figured it out. I got the Progress sway bar today and have it set on the stiffer setting. It makes a huge difference in the cars ability and from what I just tested will not over steer. I am amazed at how much more fun to drive it is and I think I should have done this a long time ago. Installation is easy and can be done by anyone.

Blown away.

It's a great mod, especially for the money.

But the car WILL over steer. Just as much as before - so don't get over confident - but you have to push it harder to reach that point.

You'll find/adjust to the new limits soon. And you'll over steer, but you'll be going through the turn faster when you do.

Strange, although I did get use to mine very quickly and found myself wondering if it could be any stiffer. But yeah pretty much night and day from an 04 but maybe not as much from a tl-s.

yea i also have an 04 TL (A/T) and the difference was quite ridiculous really. if you guys want a better idea, google map Forest Park Parkway and then look at it starting from where it intersects with Big Bend all the way to where it exits to Kingshighway (This is in the state of MO)..

if you look at the road, right before the Kingshighway ramp is a series of curves.....before, if i even drove at anywhere close to 60/70 (yes it's a 40, but traffic speed is usually around 55ish anway)...not the point...when i previously dove this road, when i hit the curves, unless i slowed down considerably, you could feel the back just swing like an old grandma's deflated...well yea you get the picture...

after i got the Progress RSB put on i didnt have enough balls to try anything until one of the nights i was moving some small stuff to a new apartment, i tackled that same road (it was 3AM) first run i was hitting those curves at easily 75-80MPH.

by my 4th run back and forth (basically when i could see my "line" i chalked up enough balls to hit 100+, and BOOM, went thru those curves back and forth [From Kingshighway to Bigbend and Bigbend to Kingshighway] top speed in a curve was 106... (no cars around, so i was able to use both lanes, and use the line that i had decided upon on my first 3 (or 6) runs.

basically, the car, FRONT and rear followed, i only got a little slippage, but that was the entire car sliding/losing grip, not just the rear, and it's probably from tires getting too warm/ time for a rotation.

long story short, my ass was not flopping around in the back, and i was pushing it hard,

funny story, a few hours later, 6AM i had to goto the lab (yea i worked at a school lab)...anyway, on the same route there, (this time i'm driving moderately) this black 07 RS4 swoops from behind me and starts gunning it, hit the same curves i did, and I am SOOO glad there were no cars next to him, and i am glad i didnt take the bait and go WOT either, you could tell he lost control, nose of car was turning left and right, made me feel pretty good that day at work, even with little to no sleep

i'd chalk it up to bad driving skills/idiot behind the wheel, but at the same time, the new RS4 is a piece of work, some of his bad skills should've been compensated for!

I can see 04-06 guys seeing night and day differences. Barely noticable for me. My wife didnt notice a difference and I'd been bragging before I installed the SB she should notice a difference...

tbh my gf didnt notice any real difference either, but we can BOTH just chalk that up to smooth Driving eh? lol

but yea, on a TL-S you will notice it even less, but more for you than me, it's one of those "one less things to worry you" things...

you wont notice a huge difference, but it's safe to know that you DO have a beefier bar (even if it's only by a few more mm) and that if you DO ever find yourself in possible oversteer situation, that you have a stiffer bar beneath you that will help track your rear wheels to the front better

Doesn't the TL-S have the same size bar as the 04-06 6MT? On my 06 6MT I noticed a big difference the moment I drove off the ramps.
