Cluster Fcuk

Update: I'm uffed.

I've gotten the front runner off but the rear runners left bolt is nearly inaccessible. I think we got an imaginary 1/8" turn on it with a wrench but all the injector wiring housing is getting in the way. I can't even get to it with a 12mm flex.

I suggested you to take off the p/s in the earlier post. That the only way to get to the 10mm bolt to release the black cables.

I know this from experience.

^^^Thanks bro, I see. I was hoping not to have to do this but if it's not possible any other way without removing the power steering then this is what I gotta do...I didn't see this in any of the directions anywhere. This is major freaking scope creep.

Now, I gotta figure out how to remove all that.

I've got the flex bit, freaking two of them. One short and the other longer, maybe I'll try to force that in but the injector wiring housing gets in the way and doesn't allow for a good angle. This one bolt is all that's in the way. I'm leaving for vacation on weds so it's now or never.

Is the base and type-s different?

dude get some masking tape and put it over the runners..

I got a really quick question when you install the runners back. Do you put the inner nut first and then the outter? There is no tq seqence in the damn manual.

That 10mm bolt is a PITA to get to.

I had the masking tape right next to the foil but the thought of ruining the engine had me acting like a lunatic.

This. Pops, the retired machinist, mentions that if the flex bit doesn't fix, just go at it with a straight one and force the housing to the side. I just had dinner so I'm gonna go out and give this a shot.

do you install the nuts first and then the bolts? What is the tq sequence for the runners to the head?

I wouldnt over complicate it....If it isnt specificed use a inwards to outwards alternating pattern much like you would anywhere else on the engine. You're not going to warp the head as long as you dont overtorque or tighten each bolt/nut fully before moving to the next.

Yes runner to head because I had the gasket warp on me. I need to swap them out.

The IM there is a torquing sequence also. but I never had issue with the IM or manifold cover leaking

the only thing i would do is:

first tighten all the bolts lightly....just as the ratchet stops.....

once all the bolts are in place, then go back and torque em down to spec

Update: I hope everyone enjoyed the Noob panic show on me. Pops placed the bit on the bolt head and then we used a flat head screwdriver to hold the plastic housing back while I shoved a 6" extension into the bit. Everything is packed and ready to send to MPP.

Glad to see more helpful comments on this thread now. I wish I knew some of these tips and tricks as it could have saved me 2 hours. Took me 2 hours to get everything else off and the same amount of time for one bolt.

I cracked the o2 sensor's wire outer housing in two during the battle. The inner wires are visible and exposed to heat. Is there a type of tape I can use to fix that?

LOL, I was about to PM you yesterday for help. But it all worked out man...desperation gives way to ingenuity.

Anil, I thought of electrical tape but figured it would melt away due to the heat in that area.

ahah its all good, and yes the black tape will melt. I have black tape on my IM to stop a leak and its already shrinking. Can't wait for my new TLS IM and water meth. Aquamist FTW.

y'all got nice holes...

Do you guys just start grinding and cutting and keep taking measurements across to make sure it's still circular? I can't wait till all this becomes very plug and play and tried and true...the ECU, these PNP applications etc...

^^^ I think people are running pnp application since couple years now....i got mine from Andy 2 years back and I bet he has been rocking this since a year before that....

the only reason people dont do this mod is coz of these myths....:
1> ohhh but its an intake side mod, i want exhaust
2> only exhaust gives me moaaar hp
3> will my engine sound become more ? NO, therefore i will get an exhaust

recently someone posted some dyno graphs from the Accord community and the gains are awesome....plus your NOT taking away from the stock look....i think this mod has been tested on many cars for many years without a problem....you should look into this Jer....

about the ECU, yes its a good call to wait if your not too much into performance....its like a group buy for a new suspension setup....some think its better to wait and get some reviews, some think its better to jump on it and save some $$$ on the intro price

PS: even the ECU, the turbo guys/Andy/TLDream(Rich) have been running since almost a year if am not mistaken....

Yeah on my accord forum with runners I believed it pulled 7hp 15tq .. Some say they prefer this over J pipe .l but it could be because they have supporting mods

Round 2 this weekend on install lol

Thnx Andy Lol

^ hey Andy or anyone who can answer this...I'm really thinking about doing this as my next mod with UR pulley/TB spacer and IM spacer since I have the JnR ECU...but I have few questions

1. Who does these PNP manifolds besides Andy? meaning does any companies do these or no? I thought P2R did PNP manifolds!!

2. How much is this and do I use mine as a core refund or do I have to send mine out and wait until I get it back or will one be ready and then I send mine as a core?

3. I know you mentioned the Accord forum had some dyno numbers..if so do you have any pics and what were the gains? ......I know Mayorcheese u mentioned 7hp and 15tq is that accurate or is that a roundbount number!!!

Sorry in Advance if it has been mentioned somewhere already but I never have seen numbers based only on the PNP manifold!!

Thanks...oh and Andy are you still doing these pnp manifolds for customers ??

1> Andy does it....Keith does it...Throwdown performance sells pnp-ed runners for a lot of $$$....thisaznboi88 did his own runners and he might hook/help u....i got another set for myself done at a local shop which pnp heads and if you want, i can help you as well....

2> Well Andy's/Keith's/my local shop/thisaznboi88 prices depends on if you send them your stuff OR they buy it somewhere and what all your getting done by them and how good friends you are with them Since they are not Vendors, they cannot list prices on the website....PM them and i bet they will be more than happy to help you out

3> I believe the 7HP/15TQ was only for either the runners or the manifold....for both you should be around 10-12HP/15-20TQ....

hope that helped you bro....

if you need to do core exchange PM me. I have the accord IM which is the same as the 3.2 TL just different cover. I also have 2 spare set of runners now. Don't ask.. long story. I just picked up a TLS IM and going to polish that bad boy. Going to see if there is a local place that would let me bench flow it so I can see the before and after.

as far as gain. Your not going to get super high numbers, but you get more power throughout the powerband. That the most important and over look thing. Everyone wants 20hp but sometimes its at the cost of 10tq. HP is much easier to make then TQ.
