How soon after the install did you dyno? Could be that the ecu hadn't learned the new setup, hence the lower than expected numbers. Still can't hurt to reset the ecu at this point.

My wife graciously got me the IM for christmas. Now I just need a TB and cover plate (and hardware but that's cheap)
Quick question that I didn't notice was addressed - Is there any benefit/disadvantage to just getting the TL's TB? Other than price? There's a few salvage yards that I can get it for about the same price as the ZDX TB. Naturally it's used (one's from a 2009, the other from a 2010) as opposed from purchasing a ZDX new. Thoughts?
And yes, I made sure it's the 3.7 TB not a 3.5. The 3.5's are all over the place. Finding the 3.7 was a bit more work.

I'm gonna try switching the MAP sensor. If that stops the bucking I will be ecstatic. This sympton occurred prior to the manifold/TB installation, so maybe my MAP sensor was bad? I feel like I would've gotten a code though. Or maybe that could be the P0174 code I'm getting on & off?

I'm actually keeping track of the thread to compile all the information we've stumbled upon and hangups that have been figured out. Soon I'll have the mods update the first post in the thread to contain all the relevant information on this swap

to be honest I only bought the IM/TB because my performance shop told me months ago that the Hondata was coming soon, so I bought everything banking on that. I obviously couldn't say anything publicly at the time, though.
Because without a tuning solution, the car runs ok with bolt-ons and the 3.7 mani/tb but you'll drive it and know you can get a lot more out of it with a tune, given the number of mods on the car. The tune is going to smooth everything out bigtime.

After reading all the pages I'm not sure if personally I find this mod to be a great value. I'd like to see how much the manifold will benefit from a tune.
Maybe I'll tune the car with regular bolt ons (full exhaust-intake) and slap the 3.7mani and Tb on and tune again to see how much gains the 3.7 parts yield.

For this car, that is a very good $/hp ratio no matter which way you look at it.
That being said, I'd still be interested to see what it tunes at with bolt-ons excluding the 3.7 like you say, and then a new tune after adding the 3.7.

^^^ ILC, I think the point which brianch is missing is whether you tune before bolt on or you get a tune after bolt ons, you will end up making the same power....
if you do bolt ons and then tune, you will only have to tune once....if you keep adding bolt ons after a tune, you will have to constantly tune your car....

Ported runners would definitely help these gains as would port matching the lower ports on the manifold. I gained 15whp on my 3.0L, and the only reason ILC didn't gain more than I did is because the TL-s intake manifold is also magnesium and better flowing than the Base. It's the midpoint between the Base and 3.7. On a Base TL, the gains would be more like what I saw. I gained 2mph in the 1/4 after the IM/TB/runners so it's definitely worth it, even untuned. Don't get it twisted

^^^ I for one would love to know how much you gained from being kinda stock (without ported and polished runners or SHAWD Manifold/TB and 4" intake) to now...

I understand that logically it makes more sense to install all of this stuff before the tune..
I'm just personally seeing if it's worth it to get into the 3.7 mani and TB.
Everyone knows PCDs and JPipes as well as the exhaust helps in unleashing a good amount of power over stock form. A tune will unleash even more power out of the mods as well as the stock motor.
If the 3.7 Intake Manifold and TB yields under 10whp after a tune including the modification itself, I think I'm going to pass.
Just a personal decision in value.
I know it's likely worthwhile for many others

^ No offense bud, but if you feel that way about mods that make 10whp, then you might as well stay stock. Most of our mods gain ~10whp by themselves and when combined, even less. For example, I gained 14whp from a better Jpipe & merge collector, UR Pulley, & upgrade from 2.5 to 3" catback. Those were solid gains, but they came with $$. Same goes for the 3.7 IM/TB/runners setup.
On these cars, when you can get 10whp, you take it. And honestly, the fact that these cars keep making power all motor WITHOUT a tune is very impressive. I have full bolt ons and am still making great power with each mod I do. It's not easy to continue to make power without a tune on most vehicles. And trust me when I say that once tuned, these cars are going to make a splash; guaranteed.

So would I lol. I want to see a stock J30a5 (06-07) 6 speed Accord hop on the same dyno that I did. Even one with I/E. The only graph I have that shows the largest difference in power is from before the 3.7 setup and 4" CAI to after. I gained 17whp/13wtq peak with 15-20+whp everywhere in the powerband. That graph is in my J30a5 dyno thread.

No offence taken! This is a worthwhile mod. All the +5s and +10s add up. I just personally decided to just stick with the exhaust + Flashpro.
I think with a tune this modification will make a real impact.

^^^ the exhaust or any exhaust wont gain you more than 3-4hp...and usually exhaust go for $1200....how is that worthwile?
The jpipe gains ~8-10whp and goes for $450-ish....
PCD's are practically the only mod which gain 15+whp and cost less than $500....but they come with rasp
again, its your dime and I could care less where you spend it....just remember, intake side you make power....exhaust side you free power

I haven't bought any mods for my car yet because I'm still doing my research. Do you guys know if I upgraded the manifold would I have to get a different TBS (P2R kit) and CAI (AEMv2) than the one that fits the stock 3.5 manifold? Are there ones that fit better on the 3.7 vs the 3.5?

Go and find a car for sale with the same mileage and "test drive" it.

Finding a 6-6 would be hard enough lol. Doubt the tester would let me do that.
