My idle issue was from a vaccum leak. Fixing it this weekend.

I THINK I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!! F me that took a while to find. Turns out it was a vacuum leak...but not from what I would have thought. It was the vent filter on my oil catch can. I unplugged it, ran the original tubing just to check it, and BOOM! it worked just fine. This baffles the hell outta me because I ran the exact same setup for 2 years on the old manifold and it worked just fine. So I don't know if the new PCV valve works differently or whatever but I'm pretty sure I fixed the issue.
I'm going to unload the car at the track now so I'll update after I run her around a lil bit.
Thanks for all the help though guys!

This is my first posting so please cut me some slack. I have been checking pricing for all of this and what I have come up with was $384.10 (not including shipping) for the manifold, bolts, studs, nuts and throttle body through www.hondapartsunlimited.com. I figure that everyone would the P2R gaskets and spacers...

All motor
^ That can't be including both parts of the manifold and the throttle body. You need the upper and lower portion of the manifold. It comes to around ~380 for the full manifold alone.

Sonnick....the prices I put up was for a Type S. Since the top part can be re-used from what I have read. I ran the numbers with that through the same place and it was 524 and change. I'm totally interested in doing this along with the P2R runners. Then re-tune with the Hondata

^ My bad. If you have a Type S you are correct, you can swap the top manifold. Nice work for your 2nd post

PS: I did add another clamp from the silicone coupler to the intake...I was out of clamps so drove to Home depot and got a clamp....
#576
do your 4" intake have a 45 degree bend before that coupler? Didnt know your battery was in the trunk?
I was thinking about doing a custom ice box and going to a smaller battery in the front.

^^^ my tiny 11lb battery is under the passenger seat....I wanted to make some space for my oil catch can
the battery doesnt do shit LOL...i have to jump the car every damn time LOL....I will be upgrading to a 21lb braille battery....10 more lbs but am hoping it will be good to turn the car over....
when I was running the SRI, I was thinking of a light weight "barrier" if you will to isolate the filter so it wont heat soak as well....but with the CAI, thats not an issue
EDIT: btw 4" and 90deg bend...it was tough to get it to fit....lucky enough when I was installing a CAI on a Type S, I found a little 4" coupler on the OEM system which I ended up using....

^^^ the problem with the 90deg coupler is it flexes and on the bend it makes curve uneven and hence messes up the airflow....the pipe is smooth on the inside and hence keep the air flow 'straight'

If you leave some extra room on the pipe it can be adjusted. Also you can weld on a steel rod to make sure everything stays where it should.

^ You should port match the lower ports to the runners....if you have stock runners you should be fine, but if the runners are ported, you will be better off matching them. Then if you port the heads, you should match the *other* side of the runners to the head.

This thread is awesome just gave up an hour of my life LOL. I know im tin the 3G forum but looking to take my j32a2 to 3.5 or 3.6 and this looks like the way to go. does any one know is the low runners off a 08 tls will fit on the j32a2 or would i be better off port matching what I have. Note I have a set of 08 tls lower runners laying around so I could have them ready for the swap.

Just ordered this setup myself .. curious, did you guys see any gains having the ZDX TB bored out by max bore?
I read through the whole thread and only saw a little info on any gains from it, like 1hp ?
Is it worth it @ $150?
I've also already have the P2R PnP runners in the car. I don't think P2R opens up the runners very much, just removes the castings and polishes them since the ports match up with the stock gaskets without having the gaskets matched.
Is it worth it to PnP the manifold or is it going to match up with the stock gaskets? I could see doing it if the manifold outlet to the runners is slightly smaller than the gasket.
Do they match up?
I also ready they're already pretty smooth, worth my time?
Just curious, trying to plan it out.

I would get the full setup and send it to either Andy or someone who does porting and polishing work....
I know a guy near me who does great work....I gave him the manifold/TB/Runner and all the gaskets....he ported them, port matched them and polished everything....the TB I got the 3.7 SHAWD TL TB and just asked him to polish it....he took off just shy on 1mm but just enough to not have to change the butterfly in there....
when/if I plan to do my heads, I will take the full setup to the guy again and have him port and polish the heads AND port match the runners

That said, my DA corrected trap speed after adding the 3.7 manifold, ZDX TB and self built 4" Airaid CAI, increased by 1.8 mph. I went from 100.5 to 102.3 corrected. Keep in mind, I already had the ported runners and a bored stock TB, but stock manifold was untouched. That's a pretty solid increase, considering our cars need around 8-9 whp for a 1 mph increase. The only other change was switching the front and side motor mounts to XLR8 62A's, but my stock ones weren't even bad, so I doubt that had any effect on trap speed.
