Just for fun...

Well until our track opens in April I decided to do some testing on the TL. Car is an 08 type s 5at. Did some videos pre and post pcd and also of letting the car shift itself compared to me shifting it just near fuel cut so it doesn't drop off as bad. I downloaded a video editor so I could go frame by frame and to the .1 of a second to get more exact times. Anyways, down to the results.

50-100, pre PCD's, auto shifting 10.0 Seconds
50-100 post PCD's, auto shifting 9.4 Seconds

50-80 pre PCD's, auto shifting 4.9 Seconds
50-80 pre PCD's, manual shifting 4.6 Seconds

BTW, all runs were done on a flat road, similar amount of fuel and similar temps so it was very consistent.

My .02, PCD's were a noticeable gain, .6seconds over a 10 second frame is a good gain, especially untuned from one mod. When letting the car shift itself the revs drop to 4700 on the 2-3 shift. Manually shifting it and revving it out higher it never really falls out of vtec on the 2-3. I will confirm this when I go to the track but for now this is what I got.

You didn't do any 50-80 post PCD?

Or any 50-100 manual shifting?

I'll get some more vids this weekend. I just got those on my lunch break.

Edit: The 50-80 post pcd (auto shifting) is about 4.7-4.8. About .1-.2 better than pre pcd.

I think a j pipe might do more for you than a tune at this point.

Unless your buying it for me that isn't going to happen. The flashpro is already ordered. Also, not convinced on j-pipe gains, already have 3rd cat delete.

I had to go open some calibration files because the 3.2 has VTEC at 4500/4700. I didn't realize it was 4850 and 4950 on the 3.5.

Interesting. I think I'm going to raise the limiter by 100rpms and set the vtec to 4700, that should accomplish what I want.
