TL-S to TSX

Hi there,

Replacing my venerable and much loved 02 TL-S with an 09 TSX 6 speed.
Looking forward to the change, and will have to get familiar with the forums here on the 2nd Gen TSX site.

Maybe I'll figure out why there are 6 gears.... only ever owned 5 speed manuals, LOL

Should be fun...

Cheers,
Mike

Welcome. 6 speed will come natural, as 7 speeds are on the market

Lotta shifting in a 7 speed, but at least the 6 is very easy.
The car shifts wonderfully and is quick and agile.

Tomorrow I'll repair a seized caliper and put winter tires on....might not be so agile after that, but safer in the snow..

Telescoping steering wheel and a USB port....welcome to the future ! LOL

crazy change to a light weight car, huh?

I went from a 5 speed manual to a 6 speed manual.
I always forget to put it into 6th gear

LOL. I have never used the USB port. What do you use it for? I still live in the past.

Any pics?

Jealous of your Nova Scotia. When I lived in Boston 4 years, traveled all over the NE and Canada, never got to Nova Scotia or Acadia, my two regrets.

Once of my favorite novels, The Shipping News, is up there in Newfoundland.

you can fill up a flash drive with music and put that in the USB port. OR if you have an iPhone you can view the music from your phone right on the car screen. (dosen't work with Android)

Well AM radio is kinda like a 4 cyl Acura. If you have never driven a V8 or V12, you don't know what you are missing.

Since I never owned an Ipod or gizmos to listen music to (My Sony Walkman doesn't count), I am ok with AM radio

Welcome to the crew
6spd is smooth on these cars

Giving u the heads up , keep an eye on your motor oil, 09 6spds are known for burning oil

2012Wagon...I just came in from the garage and am excited about the ease of use with USB devices, mainly iPod for me...no more squinting a the little ipod screen to choose a artist or song, now have an easy to use and read control from the dash. Love that !
Re Nova Scotia...we are still here and so is the Acadian part of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I'm sure you'll make another journey at some point.
Newfoundland is a province I have not visited. Great people, culture and magnificent, world class scenery.

Cu2Suspect: Yes, I read about the oil consumption prior to buying the car. I'll change mine asap to get a starting point, and watch it carefully. Could the "spirited" driving that TSX owners do by times that contribute to this issue ?

Cheers,
Mike

My car is pristine. Never rain here, continuous boring blue skies and sun.

So seeing something dirty gets me excited, as it is different.

Halifax here.

As for the oil consumption issue, it's not just the '09 MT models. I have a '12 and just had the engine rebuilt under warranty. Definitely make sure you watch the oil.

McMilli501....thanks for the info....re your engine rebuild :
Was Acura proactive after monitoring your oil consumption, or did your engine suffer damage due to the issue ?

Couple dirty pics taken this am... a lovely -30 Celsius here with the wind chill.

Standard winter salt deposits and functional black steel rims with the winter tires.

Pretty sexy stuff, LOL

It does suck a bit when ya travel to US dollar based economies....ouch on converting our dollars !

2012wagon, keep those ideas cumming. I think we need to copyright "CANADIAN STEEL " asap ! The possibilities are endless.....

Glad to hear that...I don't frequent their service dept much, as I have full faith in my mechanic. You are not the first to say that Atlantic is a good dealership.

Checked the updated thread. Bummer on the lamps coming on again. Don't you love being a "first" after them repairing "lots" ?

Kinda like the doctor telling you that he's "never seen that type of thing before...."

Best of luck today, hope it gets solved for you asap...so you can return that old MDX
