Intake question

I live in Seattle, it rains fairly often. Don't know if I should get a cold air intake from AEM or short ram intake. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance =)

Get the cold air. I have the fujita cold air and the past few months in STL has been raining none stop haven't had a problem with a cold air. Technically your car would have to be fully submerged or atleast the entire front end under water for it to cause some sort of problem.

they also make cover for your filter, so it stops direct water drops. I have 1. not sure if it slows down airflow little bit, but so far Injen CAI works great!

Dude...I don't know. You live in "Precipitation Central" !!! I had been considering a CAI for a loooong time. I've gotten to know the Service Writers at my dealership pretty well. One of them told me he's spending his Saturday rebuilding an engine because his buddy's car had a CAI on it and the engine locked up because it go water in it. With living in Seattle, I don't know.....

I've had a Fujita CAI for several months, and never had any problems with rain. I just made extra caution to avoid big puddles.

The puddle doesn't need to be that deep. It just needs to be deep enough to create a splash big enough to reach your CAI opening.

OK, you car is not a flotation device. So common sense will dictate when it is safe to cross large body of water....

If you see a big deep puddle, Do Not go over it....even if you don't have a CAI.

FYI, AEM CAI is shorter than Fujita...The water has to be in the middle of your fog light area to get sucked in, since this is where the filter would be...

Hi, I was wondering if they made any SRI for the 2005 TL...reason being it's easy to maintain and better throttle response are my reasons gettin the SRI.

At highway speeds, the air from the CAI and SRI are at roughly the same temperature...us SRI guys just lose out off the line...thats all.

I had an 03 Accord with Injen SRI and Greddy SP2...and it was quick.

Weapon R makes one...

What you'd like to for for the short ram is have a shop fab a sheetmetal box for you to cover the section behind the battery from heat, then get this box either wrapped in heat reflective adhesive sheets or just for looks get it powdercoated a satin black... You also will want to create a duct from the lower grille going up, I was planning this but decided to just go for aem

The thunderhill acura engine bay has something just like what I am talking about in their car

As for rain, I was rolling to a dyno few days ago with a member and saw a section of road with water ankle high.. Put it in reverse and turned around... Ankle high is too high

Not true. I have an 07 TL-S and Fujita. I just installed the bracket as far back as possible and it does not touch my foglight. It is close though..,

How different are the 2nd and 3rd gen engines. J32A1 vs. J32A3...i mean if all that Honda did was give it a "more aggressive camshaft, freer flowing intake/exhaust, and a 2-stage intake manifold" shouldnt 2nd and 3rd gen intake systems / exhaust be compatible?
