hang out here and read.

the only way you will learn is if you read lots and lots of different threads about the modifications you want to make......

the only reason why I'm suggesting this is because an engine swap is not viable. and sounds like you just dont know what you want or are doing....

so, read and gather tons of information.

and until you can ask a specific question, like why you want to change your brakes, just keep on reading

Also I own a Fully Bolted/Tuned/Bagged 2008 Acura TL Type S Automatic. Note that the TL/TL-S isn't exactly the best platform when it comes to performance. The $ to HP ratio is very high on the money side and not so much on the gains. If you set a reasonable goal that you want to achieve, it can be done as long as you know what you're diving into. Some members spend $$$ and get disappointed with less than expected gains. There is plenty information in the --> 3G TL Performance Parts & Modifications - AcuraZine Community <-- Thread. Search is your best friend. But like the others posted above, READ, READ, READ. Major Key, before you even consider doing performance mods, make sure your car is up on maintenance. Very very important as well.

Below are the performance mods I have done and I have attached some videos with pulls,a race (I have more but haven't uploaded yet), burnout and Dyno session. I also attach a graph which shows my baseline dyno all the way to my current fully bolted dyno. My progress thread is linked in my Signature below (which needs to update ) but you can follow my Instagram --> http://www.instagram.com/tliscious_typesex <-- which have the latest updates as well.

Performance Mods:
-3.7 SH-AWD Intake Manifold
-ZDX Throttle Body
-PNP Lower Intake Runners
-P2R Intake Manifold Spacer w/ Thermal Gaskets
-Rv6 v3 PreCat Deletes
-Rv6 v3 Jpipe
-Rv6 v3 True Dual Catback Quad Exhaust
-UR Lightweight Pulley
-Throttle Body Coolant Bypass
-4-inch Cold Air Intake

Orrrr, you can contact Andy Gerzina (gerzand). He has the Rotrex Supercharger Kits (Only con is no A/C ) . Here is his post from the Acura TL Generation 3 FB Page:

Hi Everyone. As some of you TL enthusiasts may know, I designed (and sell) custom Rotrex Supercharger kit(s) for our 2004-2008 Acura TL and 2007-2008 TL-S!

Please read all about it below. If you have additional questions, I will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner if youd like to message me or briefly ask them here.

There are 6 different bundles of the kit available to order, which ship within 3 weeks from date of order. These kits are also referred to as "Stages" based on your desired power level, fuel type (gasonline or e85 ethanol), and budget. Keep in mind that some kits may be more expensive because of their ability to run e85 ethanol which has properties similar to race fuels but with bigger fuel delivery requirements. I recommend up to 425whp for stock blocks on 93 octane gasoline or 475whp when runming e85 ethanol as your fuel of choice. If you install aftermarket pistons and valve springs, this number can be raised to 550whp and with the addition of aftermarket rods, to 600+ whp. Please stick with the "Stage" or bundle which fits these limits.

All kits are fabricated by me personally, and are designed to install with very little modification to the vehicle aside from some trimming of a couple of brackets and non-externally visible bumper plastics.

This kit requires the removal of the AC unit in the engine bay (there is unfortunately no feasible way around this). The car still retains cabin heat and all other functionality. There are numerous benefits of this kit over a turbo setup for the TL drivetrain. These include, but are not limited to: no increased engine bay heat, no heat soaking from boost related components, no need for meth/water injection, linear torque progression which is friendly on transmission components, no increase in exhaust backpressure which results in proper scavenging of exhaust gases and less heat propagated to the coolant system, and more. This kit also adds little to no weight to the TL, since AC components removed weigh as much as the supercharger kit.

Let me know if you would like to have a conversation with further questions that you may have. Email can be a good tool, but often times a phone call works best to start things off and make a proper introduction and discuss what I can offer you in regards to reliable power and torque from a properly designed and quality-made kit. If youre genuinely interested in making an investment in your car for amazing horsepower and torque, get in touch with me.

Here are some links where you can see some pictures/videos of the unit in action:

Why would you need "A/C" when you have "B" for Boost lol

not sure if you guys know but A.C is used to defrost windows. It dries the air. So good luck with that in summer, winter, and humid location.

Well right now I don't have A/C lol. (Nothing like some WOT with the windows down can't fix) Clutch won't engage so it just blows the ambient temperature or hot air . I already tried recharging system, switched compressor relays, and even jumped them but no luck. I guess I have no other choice but to replace compressor....again. This is the second time in the past year and a half.

Well first time the clutch burned out. At that time when I replaced it with a new one I was told that being in WOT with my mods burned it out. Which I never really believed because on some occasions, with A/C on, I do about 80% throttle on the highway to pass another car. When I datalog while Dom was tuning, racing or pretty much WOT I always turn the A/C off as it robs power. Second time the compressor went out. At that point I bought a used one which worked great for several months until now. My luck I guess. I was dreading on buying another new one but seems I don't have a choice.

^FYI; our cars were one of the first ones to turn A/C off at WOT.

if i remember correctly, IT DOES cut compressor, but warm air still blows

So, there MIGHT be some truth in the WOT burned out clutch claim

Awww shucks I don't honestly think so but I do appreciate the kind compliments. It's still a work in progress. I've undergone some rough times within the last 2 years not to mention relocating for better. I'm still on the road to recovery but for the most part my TL-S is what kept me happy during these trying times. I try to help others with info, knowledge and experience just as much as others on here have done for me and continue to do so. I lurk alot,I contribute where I can or feel confident enough to.

I was were the OP was, so I know where he's coming from. As a matter of fact I didn't know much about cars until I bought my TL-S.

Oh wow I didn't know that. Then after I replaced the compressor, drier and the whole shabang after it burned out initially, I still didn't understand how it stopped working again. Anytime I know I'm about to accelerate past 3K i turned the A/C off. I've been more careful but when it went out again, I bought a used one which worked for like2 months.

Because I originally wanted a 6MT TL-S to turbocharge

But in 2013 I spent a few months looking for one but couldn't find any for sale. I was living in the islands at the time and the only worthy one I found for sale was in California. A 1 owner garage kept 08 WDP 6MT TL-S with 23,000 miles for $21K If I was already in Florida I would have pulled the trigger but to pay to ship from Cali to Florida and then Florida to the Islands was way outside of my budget.

But I settled for my Auto and made the best I could. I would have still boosted it but no one as yet on the forums with a reliable boosted Auto TL-S with decent power that is still driving today. I follow all the turbo threads and I know most are trying to either reach their goal or push the boundaries. So in the meantime that's why I decided to do bolt ons. I also felt boosting an Auto will be fun for a while but then I would still feel unfulfilled because I never owned a Manual car. I'm not power hungry but I just want the best experience especially when it comes to boost.

See if you have voltage at the low pressure switch and then at the clutch. If not, your stator's fried. It's a $98 part. Takes a couple hours to change, and the system doesn't even need to be evacuated. #12

Pop the hood and look down on the passenger side of the condenser. You should be able to see wires running to it. #8
