is it possible to swap a J35a5 type-s motor into an 05 tl? just wondering if it will work with the same 6 speed manual transmission?

 

Transmission housing is different on type-s models along with the motor ECU wiring and such. Just overhaul ur motor to a J36. Can't remeber the components involved but RL pistons and a differeent crank, etc are things that have to be changed as far as the internals go. Type-s cams or type-s heads would be ideal as well. I believe the type-s 6MT is supposed to have an updated, stronger transmission to support the extra power. There's a quote from acura somewhere on the forum, but I forget where haha. Good luck!

but in all honesty if power and driveability is ur goal then i suggest going turbo!!!! i mean engine builds/swaps are great and all, but unless ur dropping a ls1,2, etc then ur better off just going turbo.
