From going all motor in the past, most stage 1 cams are turbo friendly. Most stage 2 cams are more aggressive and can develope blow-by. When picking a cam, think about valvetrain wear and seat pressure. Alot of the aftermarket springs do not have the seat pressure to run a higher lift all motor cam, as well as 20-40 psi of boost pressure. Also, the biggest cam does not always work. Its a compromise. IMO, get a cam that is specified to you application. I'm sure Bisimoto can chime in.

Yes gladly, Bisimoto can also custom design profiles for our clients to suit their specific modifications. Whether being naturally aspirated, supercharged, turbocharged or even nitrous applications a specific camshaft profile would be designed.

For turbocharged applications, profiles will be design to assist with improved turbo spool aiding in superior and more usable powerband.

Julio,

What's going on...it's been awhile. Hey I still need custom cams for my turbo setup. We decided to swap A/T to M/T...Rodney still is building the car since I'm currently out of the country. Rodney has steered me away from doing cams but I think since I'm doing everything else, why not do the cams also. Pleade convince me as to why i need the cams. So I need your advise as to what cam profile would be best for my setup...of course I will need a complete valve train as we discussed before. Shoot me an email or PM. Thanks Man.

You'd be better served emailing him (sales@bisimoto.com)

Julio responds very quickly.

But the bottom line is he'll have you fill out a form with details of your build and targets and they'll recommend a grind for you.

I am considering them as well. I was going to go with type-s cams but for a little more I can go this way.

Hey Wayne, it has been awhile! I would be glad to assist, kindly give me a call at the office at 888-922-6686 ext. 3 or email me direct at Julio@Bisimoto.com. There are times I am away from the forums working on projects and can not get a quick response in.

If you send them your cores, or buy original J32A1's from them to be ground then there is no question.

If you, however, use J32A2's to grind on, then you will need a spacer for the end of the camshaft so that the cam pulleys clear the heads.

I dont know if I would feel comfortable with a cam spacer inside my engine. Buying the exact ones that fit sounds more preferable.

I've been running cam spacers for about 3300 miles.
The cam pulleys were just as tight as the day I installed them when checked at 3k.

No one answered BSpecialist's question... Is the Bismoto that much more aggressive than the Type-S cam? Interesting stuff here.

Oh yes.

I have a 3.2 6MT.
there wouldnt be a point of upgrading to the 3.5 cams, because of cost to gains.
inaccurate used to call them the Hype-S cams.

The Type S cams have yet to be dyno'd. Would love to see it. I can see it being a decent gain for the 3.0, but not so much the 3.2. But what the he11 do I know...

You'd probably get something out of the Type-S cams, but not nearly what you'd get from even the Stage 1.

Being that the base 6mt 3.2, with .2 extra liters of displacement and higher compression, can only manage ~10 whp more than the 3.0 Accord, I would guess the Type-S isn't getting its 25-30 whp over the base TL from its extra .3 liters alone, being that they're the same 11:1 CR. Granted, it does have higher flowing cats, but I would bet the Type-S cams might show 10 whp on the dyno.

They can be had for around $450 for the pair and if you know how to change them yourself, that's not a bad price if they were to show those gains. People pay a grand for a CB that shows less power. Still cheaper than the Bisi cams and maybe a good option for those who may be leery of regrinds. I'd love to see someone do them with before/after dynos.

I just bought the car two months ago.

Mods as of now-2004 6spd @ 71k miles
I have gerzands old CAI that is heat wrapped
Mufflers and a mid muffler delete with aftermarket resonators
Engine cooling mods/some weight reduction mods
(I beat my friends 2009 6spd WRX last week)

I have a brand new clutch and axles, so I'm ready to put down some power

Parts waiting to be installed
Stage 2 bisimoto cams
Timing belt/pulleys/waterpump

Mods within the year
PCDS
Jpipe w/3rd cat delete
Possibly bigger cat back
Intake manifold port and polish

I will see if I can get dynos before and after everything as it will all be free. I hope to give back to the forum as much as I can. Haven't been here long and it's been nothing but good to me!

And for anyone who is really interested in doing this I will have my stock cams available soon and I'd sell them at a very fair price to help anyone else out that wants to become a part of the CAM FAM! haha

Yeah Bisi was pounding out power with the f22 sohc non vtec accord motors back in the day.

I am definately gonna follow this thread. Cams with hondata tune and other goodies will equal a nice N/A build.

Boost may be fun but N/A power is where its at. Smooth power band + flat torque curves = pure fun throughout entire rpm range.

^+1; Gerzand knows what's up!

A high compression, cam'd, NA build is where it's at for a daily-driver/street car.

Gerzand, what kind of MPGs have you been getting? (@ the pump, not the MID)

No I havent, but the first problem to address is the clutch. Notice how I never made hard shifts or launched off the line? There is no holding from the OEM clutch even with the slave cylinder check valve modification (removal). My LW Aluminum Flywheel and 580ft/lb clutch are on the way though! Then I can address actually being able to use the N20, as well as buy some slicks and DSS axles.

New clutch is a must but, I would not even bother spraying a 200 shot unless you got some sticky tires or you will be spinning 3rd half way down the track.
Sucks when things HAVE to be replaced before keeping the project moving forward.
Keeping a eye on your progress so I know what to expect if/when the track meet happens.

Yeah as i had mentioned, slicks are a must but if i dont have them in time then ill just run a smaller shot. Dont worry about watching out for what im bringin man...im there to cheer people on and put some faces to some names. A quarter mile time is great, but not worth a friendship
