i have a 05 tl.I was wondering if any of you noticed any noise coming from the engine once and if an UR crank pulley was installed. i got mine installed abour less than 2 months ago and a few hours after installment, i noticed a very faint noise coming from the engine. after 2000 rpm and while acelerating, the noise goes away. i just want to know if this noice is common. i talked to UR manu. and they said that its not a problem. the engine is working with less stress and i shouldnt worry about anything.

 

my car has gottedn more responsive and the pulley is doing its trick. just let me know

What brand of belt did you buy ? Are you familiar with how a belt squeel sounds like ? Could it be belt squeel ?

By the way, my UR pulley has been great and no noises.

 

I've been running my UR pulley on the stock belt. No noises or squeaks.

 

it doesnt sound like a belt squeak. i think i may just need some compound lube on the pulley. i might just have to take it off and lube it. it doesnt sound like a problematic sound. just the engine sounds some what diff. right off the start. it right at a gradual acceler. with radio off. its vey faint. or maybe i am just too precaus.

 

used new gates belt per UR instructions on underdrive crank pulley and no new noises or vibrations! all good here

 

I just got mine a few days ago and yet to have it installed... My dealer going to do it.

Anyway, anything special I need to tell them? Mine is the stock size one... I am going to tell them replace the belt with a new one. (OEM) unless the aftermarket is better... But do I need to tell them to grease or lube anything? They havnt installed any AM pullys, just stock ones and I dont want to worry about any sounds/problems...

Also TL007 is yours the underdrive or the stock sized?

 

If it's a rattling type harmonic noise around 2000k-2500k you might have the heat shield rattle issue going on, there's a TSB for it.

 

When I had my Supercharger installed my Acura, I told them about the Squeaky rattle noise coming from the pulley area. they took a look at it and found out it was the Pulley Tensioner and told me it's pretty common on the TL that the tensioner will start making noise. so they replaced it. I've had the new one for about 7k miles now and the noise is starting to come back. This is with the stock Crank pulley now on too. (I haven't put on the UR crank pulley, stock size, yet.... tooo lazy )
