I will use the 6MT tires as they are better to get a more apples to apples assessment between the two cars.
Worry is the second gear getting stuck due to the electronic safety. I will drive the M90 this week to see if the now low weight load will stop it from triggering.

I don’t keep secrets with my builds. I wish for anyone to do the same or more on their TL.
This engine has Wiseco oem size pistons. Acr race rod/crank bearings. Head has the best hand PnP job in the world. Hands down @oraclem20 put his heart into this set. Each chamber was measured and symmetrical. Everything is done to these 2G heads. Ferrea valves, springs/retainers, valve stems, valve guides. Even the valve locks are 6 degree vs the 0 degree oem. All aluminum knurled in the water passages have been removed for smooth flow. The cams are type-S. This engine will only be limited to 700whp due to stock sleeves. But I have sleeve retainers secured with sleeve glue.
The Type-s 6mt has even more done to it.

Rotrex for the racecars. Turbo for the street car.
Here’s the hand PnP head at P2Rs shop.
Traum .5mm oversize pistons paired with BC H beam rods
Assembly of the 6MT type-S engine. CSS sleeves installed along with 9.5/1 compression 89.5mm pistons.
Hand PnP heads
Installing sleeve retainers for the Mid engine build.

My worry for track day on the M90 is the car being an Auto. I have noticed that the M90 dislikes the engine braking done with 5AT TLs. This was first apparent when I hit the brakes while testing the M90 to 162mph.
I will have to use my jimmy rigged paddle shifters to upshift into a higher gear into then turns after the front and back straights of the track.
If the tranny gives out, ive got a type-S 5AT in storage.
This will be the ultimate test for the PnP M90.

Perhaps an extra bottle or two of tranny fluid should be brought with on track day?
My presumptive assertion is that it won't be but maybe one to three laps around the track before you will know its capabilities / limitations?
To say the least, my guess is it will be a 'different' look to all the 'regulars' that may attend those functions and attract attention.
Good Luck.

Yeah, I would be skeptical of the longevity of stock A/T with all that power.
I recall Yungone501 running A/T on a boosted J35 and J37. I believe he had an trans oil cooler, but idk if was stock TLS trans.
Have you checked the fluid for evidence of friction material after hot laps?

Just took it for a quick run on the highway. We will see how it goes on race day.
I have to install:
- Brake air ducts
- EBC yellow front pads
- Remove front dust shields
- change motor oil
- 3x1 tranny change
- Motul dot 5.1 brake fluid change
- refill cooler plate/heat exchanger with distilled water
- wash car
That should bring it up to speed?

Only have taken this TL to the track once three years ago, but it had the Comptech TL on at the time.

Performed a 3.75x1 ATF change this morning after 13k miles of hard use. Noticed I overfilled the ATF last time. DO NOT DO THIS on your Honda Tranny. They are very sensitive to fluid levels so pay careful attention to them when changing your own ATF.
Looks cooked. I wonder if it frothed due to being overfilled?
I didn’t have enough redline High temp synthetic ATF, so I’m adding 3 quarts of Acura DW-1. Quick online search Read that petroleum and synthetic ATFs can be mixed.
7 years ago I backed over a steep incline and my side skirt unhooked from the car. Time to reset it into place. Finally removing the rest of the water/meth kit.
Rear pads are good, so swapping front pads for EBC yellows.
Changing brake fluid to DOT 5.1
Dumping the water in the blue oil catch can.
Putting zip ties on all the loose electrical plugs.
Noticed a small leak into my trunk for the last two years. The oem glue loosened when I was rear ended and let in water. Time to fix that.

Gladly no shavings or debris was found in the ATF oil. It now shifts much crisper and the oil level is correct. Though it still gets stuck in second gear at WOT.
Front brakes were on good condition, but the EBCs are better for track use(even though they do fade a bit at the later part of a session).
Removed the front dust plates like the 6MT racecar.
Lubed all the suspension bushings and rubbers.
Removed the windshield wipers and motor as I only drive the TLs on dry days.
It’s ready for more work tomorrow!

Went to get E85 for the M90s track day next weekend.
Stopped by the metal recycling scales and it was 3100lbs for the 2005 TL-Sport with 245lbs of gear and my weight.
@619rcr , this means the race 6mt is 2860lbs. Amazing as I can easily shave 100-200lbs more off the car.
Leaving now to get the M90 current weight. Will take my camera this time.

M90 2008 5AT base current weight 3250lbs. M90 Racecar currently weighs 390lbs more than the 6MT racecar.
3655lbs starting weight for the OEM 2008 Base TL.
These are the contributing factors to the increased weight(mostly in the front part of the car).
- 5AT 65lbs more than 6MT
- oem coils
- Sunroof + drain tubes 35lbs
- M90 S/C 60lbs
- Supercharger cooling system 65lbs wet
- Driver door card
- HVAC + blower motor
- A/C system
- Passenger airbag
- Dashboard full weight
- OEM navi/CD changer
- Sound deadening
Someday this weight will shift to the middle of the car.

Great Track day today! There were two NSXs in front of me. Both had better tires and brakes. One had stoptech 6 piston fronts, 4 piston rears with MCS Coilovers(top tier). The other one had alot of CF and bolt ons including coilovers.
the TL kept on the ass of the Black NSX until he spun into turn 10. You will hear a tire screech and my hand do a spin out of the window in the video. He handled the stin pretty well. Kept on the ass of the Red NSX, but he would not let me pass.
The Mid-engine Corvettes crawled away. One track prepped Corvette told on me because I didnt let off the throttle after waving to pass me at the beginning of the straight.. This car has 650hp/650trq and crying to the officials because he couldnt pass my car in time for the turn. For a corvette with the license plate reading "TRKCAR" , I expected more.
There were two 2016 Shelby Cobra GT350s with 520hp. Both got passed because they couldnt pull in the straights and couldnt shake me in the turns with superior tires.
To anyone who had doubts that a Lightened stock TL can't perform, this TL will show you its can do quite well with good tires. With junk tires the TL is currently taking tight turns at 80mph.
Enjoy!

I also test drove a SPEC BMW today. Finally felt what a racecar should drive like. With racing tires, it feels So confident through turns, you can take it at the speeds the TL goes and the BMW tires barely heat up. The stopping force is amazing!! The contact patch on the race tire is strong enough to handing the stopping power and it Literally go flying in your harness! Having racing seats is a must as I spend alot of energy and focus planting my body around the seat in preperation for corners.
I don't think I will buy the Falken 660s, rather will keep the current tire to drive on the street and buy Hoosier racing tires.
Tomorrow I will test for my racing license as well as see if my driving is enough to drive the SPEC BMW for the October Enduro race event.

From watching the video, it appears you spend the majority of time in 3rd gear with an upshift to 4th on that one long straight?
What's the top speed you get up to, at the end of that straight, before downshifting into 3rd to maneuver the next corner?
#2184

Besides the straights, The TL runs the track in 3rd gear. On the front and back straight, TL used to top out fourth gear(124mph) before having to slam on the brakes. After removing 28lbs of sound deadening from the car, The TL now finishs fourth well before the stopping zone and just coast the 500 feet before braking. On the back straight, if the TL is chasing, I put it into fifth for nearly 2 seconds before downshifting and braking.

Dashcam works intermittently. Will install the main one in this place.
Raced a CRX with a "ZC" engine and wilwood brakes. Good competitor with lots of three wheeling.
I rotated my tires at the track today and someone said to keep two more PSI in the rears because you can control oversteer and create understeer by having the ass end come out more. Dont do this. You will waste a session trying not to go into the grass, or a wall.
I set the tires at 40 PSI Front - 38 Rear. This was a good balance though I had alot of oversteer due to the pressure being too high. I will try 36F-34R next time and see how it goes. Though when I get negative camber and rear tires, I will most likely be at 26-28PSI range. As there wil be must less tire roll. I guaged my tire roll using chaulk which is a great way to get the right psi in your tire depending on the ambient temp and track surface temp.
Here is a video of me chasing the M2 and "Jon Cooper Works" edition cooper. It was a good race. I didnt catch up, they didnt get away. Racing tires will change all this. Both have great tires and negative camber.
This was one the first or second lap so my ires were cold. Hence the slide into the apex of turn 6.
Enjoy!

Was blessed with being able to get my car on track scales to get a real wtotal weight and corner weights.
Total weight with me and helmet: 3090lbs
Front left: 1069
Front right: 858
Rear left: 548
Rear right: 614
Rear seems good, not sure why its different by 62lbs. Front has a 54lbs difference without me in it. Meaning the car is left-right balanced. Now need to find a way to front-rear balance, this will be achieved with a mid engine TL.

Here is a video of car being very squirelly in the corners due to PSI being two pounds more in the rear than in the fronts. Don't do this at it can easily cause an your TL to spin out. I had to fight harder than usual to keep the car on course during this session. Great education for seeing how the car handles during an off balance session. The M2 kept increasing the gap lap after lap. That 405hp/406trq was working in his favor.
Enjoy!

Weight w/o Driver: 3287
Weight w/ Driver: 3520
Front/Left: 1206
Front/Right: 1023
Rear/Left: 656
Rear/Right: 634
I still have 150lbs+ to remove to get near the weight reduction possabilities of the 6MT TL. The Auto tranny and supercharger system are a major weight up front as compared to the 6MT.

Need to get an airbleeder to regulate the tire PSI. I learned more last weekend on the cruciality of tires, and the importance of getting your PSI just right.
Began to study the next track I will tackle next season called The Ridge motor sports park in Washington state near Seattle. It is a Beautiful 16 turn road course!
Am downloading Asseta Corsa this week to practice the turns on that track.

Though, I think you are in the 'ball park' with the Hondadata influence.
It's too bad that that guy who had the TL 6MT 'swap' you wanted to purchase, advertised in the black market, flaked out because an M90 6MT would have been something to witness.

Sorry to hear. I was reading the 07-08 TL Helms (don't have 04-06TLHelms) to try and find something that would shed light on the question you posted yesterday. I don't know sh!t about the workings of the very complex auto trans; however, I think there are multiple variables at play regarding your 2nd to third shift issue that may or may not be in the below information?

A number of weeks back, I approached by the Flag Chief at my local racetrack. He asked, “which turn would you like to work for the Indy Grand Prix?“ Shocked, I asked for a few days to think about it.
After a few days I approached him and asked to be at the best and most tasking turn; Turn 1 at the chicane. Which is actually three turns.
Got the best seat in the house and will play an active role in communicating with the drivers and track for the 2022 Indy 500 Grand Prix.
