Haven’t seen a clutch so worn out before. ...Though I’ve only replaced a couple. But those clutch disks were spinning and had more met on them, but the cars were not stock.

Here are my cardboard 'bolt' maps I used recently when I rebuilt my two 30+ year old 12HP Briggs 281707's.

I like your organization skills Sir! It makes life easier if you apply this to it. If your organized and use a template, complex aspects of life become easier to manage.

For which tasks do you use your 12hp engine for?

I’d say it was time to change the clutch disk.

Just curious. Acura TL Builder, did Karanx7 ever answer with the specific 'name/model number of the M90/MP90 Supercharger' he mated to the CT-E input shaft?

Yes Sir! It’s a Magnuson MP90. It is a direct bolt on, though there aren’t any available Of the used variety. Otherwise it was around $2,000-2,500 per unit..

Fresh Rear main seal is completed! This car is/was leaking oil from every seal.

I was removing the old grey adhesive sealant from the oil pan portion of the rear main seal plate and a few strips fell into the oil pan. I tried using tweezers to fish them out but ended up pushing them farther in. So the oil pan seal was also replaced!

Fresh LUK clutch/flywheel is in! Should be ready to reinstall once I replace the rear mount and the rear cam seal.

I will do a valve adjustment with my Wife this weekend. Then install the Walbro 85c fuel pump from the 'Comptech kit'.

The bolt that one of the last owners snapped won the battle today. I tried Everything in my toolbox. Couldnt hammer on the bolt extractor because there wsnt enough room between the engine and tranny. Couldnt dril and tap it out because not enough room for a drill. I tried using a a set of locking pliers and it ws on there so tight i had to use a set of large channel locks with both hands to lock the pliers. I wraped the Entire area with surgical drapes leaving only the bolt exposed and used my pneumatic dremel to drill two flat spots on it to get a better bite with the pliers and that still didnt help.

Thats okay, I will win the war.

A) Maybe clean up the remaining stud and find an appropriately sized nut and weld the nut to the bolt?
B) Some say place an appropriately sized washer first, weld. Then with the improved surface area the washer provides, weld the nut to washer?
C) Pray, then gently try to remove.

can you use a dremel to cut a slot in the bolt, then use a skinny flat head to turn the screw? Like this:

LMAO at the surgical drapes, got them in bulk?

I will try that, but it seems the toque on that bolt is quite high.

Yes, I have many of these drapes as sometimes the wrong drape is opened or the case cancels before the patient arrives in the room.

lmfao! It would be a hassle to stop the procedure to pour more chloroform on the towel every few minutes. Wanna be the makeshift anesthesia guy? :P

Changed rear cam seal today. The old one was stiff like an original power steering hose from a Texas car.

Changed rear mount

Took a bit to get the rear mount hydronic tube back on. If you go under the car and remove the 12mm bolt securing the tube, you will get enough slack to easily resecure it.

Began cleaning the engine bay as the only seals that may still leak is the oil pump housing. I’m going to mate the trans and engine back together tomorrow, then begin reassembly.

I plan to install the injectors and Comptech S/C when I get the Fastline conversion harness from Heeltoe. Going to drive to his shop Monday morning for it. I need to get my last Gas/E85 tunes from the Silver Auto TL(I need to make new names for the TLs, perhaps by number?) from English Racing. Also going to replace the Black Turbo TL-S wiring harness to remove the Hondata unit to use on the Comptech until I can get more kidneys. Anyone wanna see my M90 TL?

Driving around with the missus in the M90 TL this morning a spirited Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor wanted to go around me in the slow lane, I didn’t let. Do when I passed the guy in front of him he dashed around me and we both took off from 35-100mph. I beat him by a car length, got in front of him and flashed my victory hazards to let him smell my E85. He flashed his lights as he went across 3 lanes to go onto another road.

Sounds like the best ride you have given the missus in several years.

Use only original fellers! Though I used GM syncromesh Friction modified MTF. The quart in the pic is a spare.

Cleaned the engine area a bit.

Changed Engine mounts. The upper tranny and side mount were cheap ebay knockoffs. I used Honda.

The passenger side axle was replaced at some point and the Experts torqued one of the three half shafts to the point of stripping half of the threads.

Did my second Clutch valve delete. Though the slave cylinder on the TL sport is a knock off. Lets see how long it lasts.

I used a Type-S 89k mile intake manifold to save 6lbs of top weight.

Car started and ran perfectly. Took it to Heeltoe Automotive to pick up a Fastline Performance ECU conversion harness to be able to use the 2007 Type-S5 147k mile ECU on the 2005 Acura TL Sport.

Driving through the Ghettos of Portland(all of it is) to break in my clutch when I drove past this 04-06 TL-B5 with an interesting wrap and front emblem.

As I took the first shot of the back, a woman looking old beyond her years with no teeth popped her head out of her upstairs apartment window and asked why I’m taking photos of her car. I explained to her that this is my favorite car and that I haven’t seen one like this before. She said, “Oh okay, I thought you were taking pictures of the license plate”. I replied, “No, but May I take photos of the car”? She was okay with that.

Portland is a scary place, don’t move here unless your a degenerate who loves the druggy lifestyle.

This is exactly what I was thinking to do for the best chance of success. Unfortunately, I have yet to buy a welder to create my turbo manifold.
So I put it back on for now. The front engine mount connects to a brace which holds the engine and tranny together, as well as a pin an inch from the bolt, so it should hold well until I return to win the war.

When you have time, watch the video below starting at 5:47 for reference. He uses an extractor on the front exhaust manifold stud supplemented with heat to loosen up any factory thread locker that is present.

At 8:27 he tries the washer / nut method on the rear manifold stud; however, it fails and then he resorts to just welding a nut and applying heat, where he finally finds joy.

Hey fellas, Does anyone have access to an 04-05 TL 6MT dashboard wiring harness or know if a 2006 TL 6MT dashboard wiring harness will work?

Many thanks

Okay, So I purchased a 2006 6MT non-navi Dashboard wiring harness off flea at today. I learned that the non-navi harness is a direct fit and eliminates the need for purchasing the cumbersome ECU conversion harness I got. You only need two 18g-16g wires and run them to the only two empty slots on your green canbus. Depin two pins from that green canbus clip and two from the obd2 port at your local junkyard and it’s ready.

This 2006 non-navi dash harness is “partially” there, because it’s pinned for the 07-08 ECU. If you have a 04-05 6MT OR 2006 NAVI you must use an ECU conversion harness.

After purchasing an 07-08 ECU, you can(bus) go to Honda/Acura or a buddy with a Honda tool and get the vin and immobilized sync’d/programmed and will be ready to remove the CEL errors via Hondata and be ready to tune.

Lets see if this works?

interesting, have an 07 tls and had thought of picking up an 06 tl just to tinker with. just curious, was the non navi harness cheaper than the conversion harness?

Preload is a perfect 35 in/lbs. 30-40 in/lbs is needed.
