I'll be doing the same but I'll be part of the R&D and designing process. It would be a collaboration between me and my local fabricator. I have the general knowledge to do it but not the experience---so I'd rather just collaborate with someone to make sure I get a perfect product each time.
Which means profit margins won't be as big but really I'm mainly doing it so I can get a "free" part for myself lol Same for the rear brackets. With the 40% increase in material cost it really hurt profits but I mainly opened it up to others 'cause it would allow me to pay for the R&D, time and initial fabrication I paid to make the set for myself. And I knew some others wanted it as well.

Thanks! Would be cool to see it on your car
I'm really curious what vent style people would choose between the two options.
Yes, it is. fiberglass fabric in itself is easily 25-50% cheaper than carbon fiber. It's just as light but not as strong.

In the meantime, I’ll install these into the fenders And possibly into the quarter panels over the rear tire due to the slicks getting to 250F+/-. This will ensure that they can be pushed to the limit for an entire session without

Modded my Acura track hat today. Got it from an Acura GM who liked my package in an IG post last year.
Used only TL 3G era pins.
Update on the 1/64 TL car collection.
NIB TL 3G wheels. Will have these displayed on day, for now, they sit in boxes.

On the Racetrack the Acura TL becomes an animal chasing its prey.
x2 2019 BMW M3s get passed for being slow. A 5.0L Mustang gets smoked for being slower. How did they get into the advanced class?
In this video, You will see me futzing with cords underneath the gas pedal, scrolling songs, and screaming like a Hoonigan at the crowd. The TL a force to be reckoned with. These truths will be proved next season. For now, the TL will eat late model M3s for breakfast.
*The TL had the worst tires for this session, 500 Treadwear* Next season the TL will have Toyo RR 40 Treadwear shoes.
The TL made an orange car slide off the track and nearly hit the wall at 4:55. You can see his shadow on the track 4:48 and then keep going straight even though there was a turn!

Acura TL Builder your in-car race videos are fun to watch.
With that said, is it possible for you to experiment / move the camera location from the center line (yellow vertical) of the rearview mirror post, down & to the right, about 4-6 inches or so (purple line), so that your audience can observe more of what you are seeing on the road, while racing, versus the front roof line circled in red?
It may take a few tries; however, I'm sure you can improve the camera position to enhance the view.
Even if the rearview mirror were to partially block some of the action at the lower location, one could still see what's going on out of the passenger side windshield / door at road level.
For instance, when you 'wave' or stick your left hand out of the driver's door window, we would get a better idea as to what compelled you to do so.
Like someone cutting you off or not being courteous and letting your faster TL pass them?
Get what I'm suggesting?
This would greatly enhance the entertainment of your hard driving and overcoming some of the faster competitors you are up against.

Thanks Zeta, your welcome to call me Alex. I am now running two dash cams. One is on the passenger side of the windshield to be as a ‘Ride along’ view. The other is in the rear of the car by the third brake light. This give the whole
in car view and a view of the cars in front.
Still need to do cord management.

The other side looks terrible, it will eventually be repainted and reset. The drivers side came out good because it was standard waterproof gooy silicone. But you I still took too long to put the window on the car.
I only had enough for one side and went to Walmart to get a liquify silicone. It almost immediately began raising up the paint when I applied it. Don’t do what I did. In fact, place the lexan without silicone and apply it afterwards.
Looks like chit fellas. But now it’s on there and will be easy to repaint and rerivot.

After installation, the best approach may be to install the window and Then apply the silicone from inside the car. I don’t think silicone is needed unless you plan to race it in
the rain. 🌧

During Indy weekend my friend got a cut in his tire sidewall. Had to ultimately tow it home.
NRG quick release and OMP steering wheel are installed. This will be needed to get in/out of the car after the race seat and rollcage is installed.

I had waited for this weekend all year. The Corner I was at was hands down the best seat in the house.
I had half my body out on track waving flags as cars zoomed by a few feet away at 140mph. No one else besides Indy staff were allowed to so much as touch the sidewalls when cars were on track.
Locking eyes with Scott Dixon, Alex Palau, and Romain Grosjean while they pushed their Indy cars to the limit made my year.

Tons of TLs racing last month in an Enduro!
You have never seen so many TLs crashing and spinning in any other video.
Enjoy!

Going to install the system entirely. But need to have the ECU reflashed with a 2008 so I can get it tuned with Hondata.
Will have the wastegate at 0-1psi until that happens. Need to schedule the ECU reflash.

Still have lots of work to do reconfiguring all the piping in the passenger side. Though it’s busy at the track this weekend.
I am currently putting the TL into the ‘S’ of turns 10&11 at the track at 80mph.
Ordering wing and splitter material to be able to put it into the same turn at 100mph+ next season.

I won’t be using the Comptech S/C, but I did want to save it in my collection. My only fear is 40 years from now it may be the only True power adder allowed on the 3G on public streets as only complete oem cars may be allowed. But that probably won’t happen as our cars will be grandfathered in.
Just in case though, I have a Magnusen MP90 and a brand new Comptech snout to build a Comptech MP90 in the future.
I know I’m not getting my full amount for the Comptech, but it saves the hassle of buying another 6MT and taking the parts apart and having to get rid of the shell. The parts I’m receiving were Carefully removed off of a California 6MT with 154k miles.

This will be the first TL item I will be getting rid of. I’ve traded with this guy before, he’s going to stay over the weekend, driving up from LA. It’ll be a good time. Gotta do a bit of extra cleaning Friday.

Recently drove over to @Yonaka Racer s house to meet and see his TLs.
He has an 84k mile 6MT that he crashed earlier this year. He bought a rare color green/camel ext/int to 6MT swap. We even discussed using his 6MT to swap into the mid-engine build! He agreed the next day, but I had made a deal with @RegularDad(IG) the night before.
Was good meeting you man! Looking forward to your progress!

M90 TL is waiting to have the recently acquired 6MT swap installed on it. Sean @PowerRev sold me a spare 07/08 6MT Clutch case. Thanks man 🙏🏼
Turbo TL needs a custom turbo manifold made to be tuneable. Precision Turbo waiting in the wings.
Rotrex almost ready to install into the FF Track TL.
This J35a8 with J32a2 heads will be used in congruency with the 6MT swap kit in the RWD mid-engine TL. I like how that sounds.
Here are the 6MT parts for the RWD swap of the M90 TL.
I traded my PnP Comptech Supercharger for the 6MT swap parts. Saved me from having to buy a TL, striping it and then hauling away the carcass. Though I already miss the Comptech.

^^ Came with a set of TL-S Cams and an AASCO lightweight flywheel.
Base knuckles and StopTech calipers I traded a spare J series Holley Intake plenum Adaptor plate from @PowerRev.
Ideally would like to start the Twin Engine build this winter, and In some aspects I will. Though my build priority is for the Rotrex TL to be tuned and mods completed by Spring time.
The Mid-Engine build will have to be focused on fully, as it will take the most calculation, time and effort of any one of my TL projects.
I will build the second race engine before next racing season and attach the 6MT tranny to it.
Then I will source a subframe and begin Measuring, measuring, cutting and welding. But that may be mid-late next year.
Quite excited to have most of the parts needed to make the major build a reality. Its been years in the making. Since August/September 2018 when I first measured out the rear of the car vs the front for a possible Twin engine/Mid-engine build. Those measurements and date are posted in this thread.

Just curious, on the twin-engine build, what approach will you utilize to couple the front and rear engines, in unison, to transfer power to the wheels via one 6MT?
Or am I missing something?
#2278
Butt, if I were to do it. I would have the two tranny shifter cables front he mid-engine go to the front of the 6MT shifter box and connect in to it in the same fashion as the oem engine. This way I can shift in unison. A secondary clutch cable would be connected to the oem one to depress both pressure plates at the same time.
The throttle would be connected via the same electrical branch that goes from the engine harness to the DBW cable that connects to the Throttle body. This will give equal throttle inputs to both engines.
Both engines would have to be oem or modified to the exact specifications of the other engine.
This concept has been proven before and is a rather basic brainstorm. But to make a reality, only a handful have achieved it.

Not bad for an auto 3.5 Type-S. I could have gotten better if I proper psi in the tires. Drove like this through the mountains between Boise, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.
Took less than one tank each way!

Hard to believe it’s been more than five
years on the 3G TL modification journey. Feels like I only just started.
This year I am a driving instructor. Gives me 50% off Test and tune events. Also I get two 20-30 minute track sessions the days I instruct.
Used to pay $285 for track days. Now it’s free or $85 for the entire day.
