I have had the same problem on other cars, so I finally just go and rent a 3/4" impact with a adapter to my 1/2" impact wrench. Last time it was $16 for 4 hours, plenty of time. Even though it is on a smaller compressor, I get 2-3 good hits and let the compressor recharge everthing. Usually comes off on the second attempt.

I am seriuosly not suggesting this, something I have heard of people doing. Funny though.
That is def not good for the car.....i know it works, but i bought a new IR 1000ft lbs 1/2 drive impact that will take it right off.

When you use a proper impact wrench, it hits it so hard and so fast....it barely even has a chance to move, nevermind spin the crank.

BTW, I've done the ol starter trick, but not on the TL yet. It won't hurt anything if you do it right. It actually is the preffered technique on inline V6's where the pulley's face the radiator. There's no clearance to remove the drive pulley with an impact gun without removing the radiator

At timing belt change time you have to:
1) Remove the radiator

or

2) Use the ol breaker bar/starter trick. Saves a lot of work this way.

Just be careful, remove the fuse to prevent an accidental start, and lock the bar against the subframe or ground before bumping the starter.

I would think your car should be capable of high 13s on the 1/4mi., but it all depends on the launch.
