07-08 TL-S Exhaust by Excelerate!!!

I don't have the finished product but the following are some rough pictures to get an idea of what the system will look like. It is unfinished and unpolished and not a pic of the entire exhaust but you can get a sense of what it will look like finished using the base TL exhaust pics.

Base TL Exhaust

TL-S Axlebacks

And now what you have all been waiting for:

Peak HP showed a gain of 10whp and 8 ft lbs of tq but look at the torque/hp curve around 3-4k. At around 3500 there is about a 20whp and 30 ft lbs of tq gain.

Just FYI this will be an entire catback exhaust. I just didn't have a pic of the entire TL-S exhaust but the mid section will be the same for the base TL and TL-S.

Yes you can use the TL-S exhaust on the TL but you will likely need to modify the rear lip or get the TL-S rear section.

Just wanted to add that the test car was an auto and also had a P2R TB Spacer & Gaskets(guess where you buy them) along with the AEM intake. I'm pretty sure the catback tested was the resonated version since that's what I asked for..

gains. Well, with all the different dyno machines, I'm not sure where my car stacks up against the other TL-S autos, but I'm pretty happy about the huge gap between the lines at 3k & up!

One question, where is the temp measured from? Does the dyno have a temp gauge, or is it entered by the user? The temp is a full 10 degrees higher from the first runs and second runs. I'm thinking he might of done the first dyno in the morning and the second in the afternoon?

Can't wait........:o)

Oh yea forgot to add that the test subject was a 07 TL-S A/T with the resonated setup so a TL-S M/T with non resonated should at least see another 4-5 whp.

Nice gains. Any chance we'll see a dyno sheet and hear a clip on the base version non-resonated soon?

I have 3 questions:

1. Can you get some pics of the Type-s that performed the dyno with these exhaust tips on? (I don't care if it was polished or not. I just want to see how it looks with a type-s rear.)

2. What is the expected date of completion for the exhaust?

3. Can we get sound clips of both resonated and non to get an idea on how drastic the sound differences are?

Thanks and great work excelerate.

Just seeing the angled dual tips makes it worth it. One of the best things about a 07-08 type-s is the dual slanted tips. the atlp exhaust doesn't allow you to keep a low key stock look. Can't wait til the final product is ready! I definately want one!

1. I'm working on that. I don't know if pics were taken b/c the system wasn't finished or polished.

2. I should have some available to ship in about 3-4 weeks.

3. I don't know if sound clips were taken either. The test subject will be getting the exhaust within a week or so and he will be able to take pics for us and maybe a sound clip.

The more pics, and a sound byte, the better. For me, it's a big decision, since there are so few exhaust systems out there for the TL-S.

I do have one question, though: how much louder is it than stock? I love the tone of the stock TL-S, and also love that it's not TOO loud. Just curious.

Those are not going to look as stock as you think bro , however they do look freakin sweet. Look how big the tips and muffler are, just like ATLP.

If you want to retain stock look only way is paint the muffler black and get stock tips welded on

Looks AMAZING!! I might actually get one. It looks a LOT like the factory TL-S exhaust which is in my opinion the best thing about the "S". STRONG SHOWING, BRAVO

I should have pics of the entire exhaust system polished and finished and also pics of it in its basic finish on Monday. The exhausts for the TL-S should be in hand to ship by the 2nd or 3rd week of May.

I am also working on the J-pipes too so that is the next mod.

you can not weld stock tips on... they are slip ons... aka fake

how do I know? well before I swapped my exhaust... the sheer backpressure made 2 of the fake tips fly off... spent an hour on the side of the highway looking for them

Just curious, does your J pipe have equal lenght runners a la ATLP or short runners a la Riche?

If you can get all angle shots of the exhaust that would be sweet Excelerate. A full side shot to see how low the exhaust is from the back would be sweet also. The more pics the merrier and a sound clip will seal the deal for me. You might as well set up some deposits because mine has been chillin for a minute..lol

those tips are BEAUTIFUL, a LOT better than the ATLP.. they are diagonally cut so they sit flush.. it's got a lot more shine too.

amazing work.

def hit us up with pictures and a clip, and can you beat the ATLP price? im DEF going to hop on these!

Ditch the coffee cans... This exhaust sounds better and better everytime I drive my car! I know a lot of people don't like the round peg in a square hole exhaust look but the more I look at it the more I like it. I liked the look from day one but it just keeps growing on you.
