I think they could've went with bigger tips and spaced them out just a bit... dunno how this will work with the type s rear lip since the opening is slightly larger... I was hoping it would look awesome

I think the spacing is fine. This is a type-s rear lip are you talking about the A-Spec? I think it does hang low and I know its pretty much in production. Excelerate would there be any way you have them adjust those hangers to bring it closer to the car? I know these are rash adjustments but I think it will serve this exhaust better. Looking pretty nice though.

well I am talking rear type s aspec because I don't think you noticed but nearly 9 out of 10 type s owners in the market for an exhaust either already have the type s rear skirt or are base tl'ers who want quads...

I agree, it does seem to hang a little low for my taste. Still looks good though

Any sound clips?

Hmm...guess it could be skoosh higher...but i think the first comment is messing with some heads....

Does it sit as high as the other exhausts, no. Does it look more like the stock type-s exhaust then the other exhuasts, yes.

I always thought that the ATLP exhaust was a skoosh too high and gave it an odd fit....but that is my opinion...to each his own.

that definitely need to be more flush with the bumper, since it is tilted, it looks like it was placed on crooked

ATLP FTW!!! NO offense, but those tips look too thin and too stock like. ATLP looks beefier IMO.
Do you have sound clips by any chance?

well the atlp tips come all the way out of the muffler... and the muffler is angled upward to fill the opening...

for these tips to be welded on they could've gotten slightly more creative and angled the tips themselves to fit it nicer...

my concern is that with the rear skirt it will be even lower... for those of you who have the type s skirt you know what I am talking about because the opening above is even more higher - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P4050009-1.jpg

Just one question, when you look at from the side do the tips really come out that far or was this just the angle?

Does anyone know if we can get shorter hanger straps for the exhaust to bring it up a bit? I'm also wondering if anyone has had any past experience of possibly tucking the exhaust back.

You can't back the exhaust up because the tubing won't allow you to, as for raising it, the amount needed will not be suffice by cutting and rewelding the hangers, not to mention you might end up lop sided...

The only fix is to have the actual muffler drop from the rear 15 to 20 degrees to close up the massive 3/4" gap from above....

would that be possible if these exhaust systems have already been manufactured? They are almost ready to ship no?

Geez..this blows. I hope Excelerate can put in a request for them to modify the hangers. I mean..if they plan on mass producing them I don't see why they can't make some tweaks on it. On top of that my f-in car has been in and out of the shop more times than I can count. I'm on try #4 now to get this f-in knock sound from my engine. Love my car to death..hate this sound.

What I don't like is, how you see the tips when looking from the side....I know when I installed the rear a-spec lip kit ( 07 TL-S) it hid some of the tip that you see from the side....As far as hanging low..yes I see that as well.

I just think that tips (they look great by the way) should sink more with rear and not come out as far. Also adjusting the hangers so they don't look like their about to fall off could compliment the car and the rear as well.

Actually there is some adjustment in the fact that it is a slip fit. I have sent BB some emails. I haven't test fitted any myself so I don't have any pics and can't make adjustments. The exhausts are in production but that doesn't mean the hangers can't be modified slightly. I really need to get a TL-S to Billy Boat directly so if anyone is up for it let me know. I will give you $150 off the exhaust to compensate you for your time.

Thats the ticket! I was hopeful if this ended up being a concern it would be something you could look into. Hey Excelerate if it would be possible to see if they can make that rear exhaust not stick out so far and sit up closer to the car that would be excelent. As far as the look of the exhaust you already have a buyer. Count me in if this can be worked out.

so Excelerate- i know you are so tired of these ?'s but i am new to the site and tls scene- just bought a 07 tls, have my cai being shipped now. i like the sound of the stock exhaust, but i think it could sound a bit more "bad ass" so what's yours sound like?? the only thing popping up for me at ur store is the CAi'S. SO???i don't want it to "mini bike"sounding like EVERY civic you see, ya know? thanks

I have talked to the manufacturer a little further. There is some adjsutment in the exhaust. The tips do need to stick out of the bumper slightly or you will melt it. If you pull the tips in more the exhaust will exit on the bumper. And there should be about a half of an inch on all sides for clearance so the bumper doesn't melt either. The exhaust was designed for those clearances. I don't think it will be an issue but I'll probably install one locally to confirm. I think that once I get some in person and install them I'll take some pictures to confirm.

In terms of the tips not sitting flush I would recommend ppl look at their stock exhaust from the side. These tips sit as flush as the stock tips. Go to Acura.com and click on the TL-S and do the 360 degree view. Here is a picture off Acura.com of the TL-S in the 360 view (I have no association with Honda/Acura; this is just a pic off their site):

the tips will not melt the opening I rolled on the greddy with 1/4" clearance for 6months and never had a problem... and the tips do get hot, but the grey accents hold the heat well... it does require to be raised just a lil bit

This is flush from the side:

Not flush from the side:

Flush from the back:

Sticking out from the back:

I hope you can see what we're getting at Excelerate. There's a pretty big difference in how these exhausts show. We're just wanting it to look flush like the original.

WOW! whos blue TLS is that??? what did u do to the rims? powder coat? they look hot. it makes me wanna keep my stocks and just lower it. i only wish these rims were 18" oh well, smoother ride and cheaper tires right hehe.

oh yea and i agree with you all. it needs to be flush with the bumper or else im not buying. i love the stock look not the stock sound!!

I have an 08 TL-S in Phoenix and will be willing to help out in the process, I'm in the market for an exhaust and I've always been a fan of BB. Oh yeah and it's a 6 speed if that helps. Just let me know. Thanks

as long as they don't look like they are popping out at ya-the flush mount on the rear is no biggie, is it? who stares straight down(from above trunk looking down) u won't be able to tell. it appears to me this company does know EXACTLEY what we TLS owners want!! a tight looking ride!! good job cant wait to get 'em on my ride

Hey...I got a question....I have 08 Type S with factory underbody kit...Would those exhaust tips will be flush...
As you can see on the other pics...It does not look flush to me either but take into consideration that it does not have the under body spoiler kit.

What is your opinion?...I do have to agree that those tips are way off from being flush. It takes the looks out of proportion

Does anyone has comparisons of whp dyno gains between atlp and excelerate cat backs?

If you have the A-Spec rear bumper can those tips actually burn the under body spoiler?

I took a couple of pics of my car so you guys can take a look what im talking about. Maybe if i was able to post some pics but i cant post attachments for some reason.
I think the a spec bumper on the type s will help make those tips look a lot more flush

It sounds nothing like the Stage 3. Trust me, I went directly from Stage 3 to Excelerate's base resonated version and it's MUCH deeper and has none of the hollow sound that Stage 3 has. I think the BB resonated falls somewhere in between ATLP and Comptech in volume.

Can we get sound clips?...And pictures of A Spec bumper on Type S with the exhaust to see if its flushed enough...That is the only thing that keeps me off from buying it...Plus i heard the left side hangs down a little bit more than the right side...
