So, over the weekend my uncle gave me 2 12" home theater subs(Shiva?) that he believes are rated at around 500RMS. My question is, can I adapt these to work in my TL or are there compatability issues(AC vs DC, anything along those lines)? Thanks to anyone who can assist.

 

no...home theater is different from car audio.

 

Yes you CAN, but you shouldn't. Home speakers are going to be rated at 6-8 ohms, whereas car speakers are rated at 2-4 ohms.

My TC Sounds TC-1000 driver can be built for either Home Theater or Mobile applications, but it is a 4 ohm speaker.

If you can find some specs on the drivers you might be able to. Go to the AVS forums. They have a ton of posts on these speakers. I believe they are Adire Audio subs, which made some of the best car audio subs.
