A V710 / 04TL HFL Problem
A V710 / 04TL HFL Problem
Since I owned a Sony Ericsson T610 & T618 previously, I can state that there is a definite difference in functionality with the V710:
When driving along in my 04TL, I'll notice that my V710 will ring (vibrate) for a few seconds (2-3 rings) before the HFL will notice it and start ringing over the car's audio system.
My S/E T610 would ring on the HFL immediately.
Some people may think this is a minor problem, but this means that I will need to wear my phone while driving instead of sticking it in the center console with the charger to keep the battery fresh. Also, some folks may hang up after just a few rings. I may miss more calls if this is a permanent problem.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Mine does the same....it will vibe w/o the HFL alerting me, but as soon as it goes from vibe to ring (since I have it sent to vibe/ring) it will ring.
GotJazz...it your set to vibe/ring or just vibe?

If my suspicions are correct, I think Motorola took things way too far for the "quiet mode" of operation. In the car, I almost always have it on "vibrate" with my S/E 610, since I probably wouldn't hear it over the stereo.
If this is true, it should be a user-selectable option on whether the HFL system rings during Vibrate Mode. Motorola shouldn't be deciding this for us.

My bro helped me test out my theory, and it looks like I may be right about a firmware bug.
V710 "Vibrate & Ring" mode: No HFL notification until the phone switches to "Ring" mode.
V710 "Vibrate" mode: Instant HFL notification, and the phone doesn't vibrate at all.
I guess that there's still a question of: "If I feel the V710 vibrating in the "Vibrate & Ring" mode, can I hit the HFL "Answer" button and have the V710 send the call to the HFL properly?
Don't know yet. Stay tuned for further updates.

Make sure also that in the headset settings that the auto answer and voice dial are both off. This helped me figure out why mine wasn't ringing in loud mode. It also seems that the ringing tone you use seems to affect whether the HFL is notified of an incoming call or not. I hope the next firmware fixes all these issues.

BUG in the V710. If it is in SILENT mode it will NOT alert the HFL of a pending call.

If I remember right, my T610 would still audibly ring on the HFL even when the phone was set to "Silent".

I setup my profiles so that when I am in Hands-Free mode I do not want the phone to "ring". The HFL will tell you you have a call. It's just a thing...

It may be the vibrate setting?
