Navi can't tell night from day
Navi can't tell night from day
I've had my TL for about two weeks. When I first got the car if the headlights were on the nav screen went into night mode. This is no longer the case. Day or night it is always in day (yellow) mode. On the setup screen the display is set to auto, it just refuses to switch. Has anyone else had this happen?
LOl -So thats what it is!!
I thought that I had the same problem. Now I see this post and am guessing that you have to set the Day mode seperately on different settings then place it in auto..
Great! Thanks for screwing up the post as you surfaced this issue and made me realize this.
Your the idiot who stopped me from being an Idiot!!
THaaaanks!
j/k - but you really did help.

I want to add that I just got my windows tinted about 2 weeks ago and havent driven at night since this weekend. And I thought it was my tint that was too dark , since the inside was LIT up too bright and me seeing Glares everywhere.
It was the Dispay being to bright in my eyes!! LOL

haha, i am guilty of this too, I even went into the dealer and had them look at it, they couldn't figure it out at first and then myself and the service technician played with the Max button and learned something new

I got to say it is still kinda of weird to me though. I got it working just now. But what I thought it was, was still actually wrong. I went to the touch screen and selected day. Adjusted it down one. Then went to Night and adjusted down even farther. Then I went to auto, hit return. Turned the lights on and still it didnt work. I was like "WTF" . So then I went to adjust the brightness near the side view mirrors button and turned that one notch down. And then tested it and it worked. So just to see if I can go back again to turn everything bright to see if I can stop it from working again - Switched everything to all Bright - Max. Now it doesnt even go back to where it would not switch. Gotta say this is wierd but atleast it works.. I think you have to initially turn down the brightness once on your gauges. Oh well - It works now.

so like you said, keep it one notch under MAX and auto will work

to my knowledge, no matter what time, or how many times you press it, when the setting is at MAX, the Auto feature SHOULD NOT work, if it does, after pressing it a few times, thats just plain weird
I like this feature, and I think it's well implemented. I like to drive with my lights on during the day, and the interior on max brightness at night. So when I turn on the lights during the day, the navi brightness is at its daytime setting. At night, all I need to do is hit the MAX button and it goes to the nighttime setting.

Heh...yeah, I did the same damn thing. Was getting quite upset for awhile before I finally figured it out.
