Ok, ACS #: 800-382-2238

I haven't called them for 6 months... wow...

Basec on the letter Acura sent to neuronbob, it stated "to a select number of our Acura family"... they're the lucky guys here, I'm not...

Btw, maybe those receiving free DVD update hardly bother ACS, I'm the one calling ACS more than 20 times in the first half year... so I got no freebie.

Maybe its Acura's way of compensating us for vibration issues?

rets, don't worry, you'll get yours. They are probably sending them to everyone, just a batch at a time.

Getting back to the navi giving "non-preferred" routes...................on a recent visit to Boston the navi would give me different directions to my motel every time. I even went back to the same parking spot to see but it came up different again. The trips ranged in estimated time from about 18 minutes to over 40 minutes! Weird if you ask me. I never changed a setting.

I spoke with Acura Customer Service Rep. She told me to get a copy of the letter that come with the updated navi CD. We should then send the a copy to prove that Acura is giving some customer update CD. If someone can scan that letter they get with their Navi CD, so everyone can print a copy and get their new navi CD

I got the same response from ACS. A scan would be great!

Thanks

sounds like a good plan. However, if that letter has stated clearly that ...This one time update is provided to a select number of our Acura family to thank you for driving an Acura..., Acura would keep saying the same thing to us if they decide not to fulfill our requests.

It do not matter to me what the letter say. As long as I have proof that Acura did send updated navi cd to SELECTED customer. I will be the customer from hell, until they treated everyone equally

Re: Updated Navi CDs...

I'm wondering... Of those that received the update -- Did you fill out and return the Acura "survey" when it was sent out?

I'll definitely be doing that if someone can scan their letter in for us and black out their name!

ACS issued the disc, not your dealer. Are you talking about something else?

How about we set a time when we are all free and call ACS at the same time and ask them where our free DVD updated Navi Disc is?

Just got back from a road trip to Key West. Used navi all the time. Three times it made me turn off my route , then make a U turn to go back to original route. In Tampa, it got so confused it shut down. I saw this thread before I ordered a new DVD. Today I called Acura customer service and told them about my trip and the navi mistakes. I told them I knew about the free navi update and that I felt that I should be on the free DVD list since I am also a repeate Acura customer. My prior ride was a TSX. I'll post if they send me a free navi DVD.

What was their response to your request for an updated DVD?

This is my third 3rd gen Acura TL in less than one year. Well the second TL was replaced by my dealer for free. I should call up ACS and tell them this and that I should receive an update Navi disc.

Hey! Can you scan the letter that came with the disc? I talked to a rep at Acura who said if I could send him a copy of the letter, he would see about helping me out.

A few other people on this board got the same response from reps.

November 2004

We are pleased to present the enclosed update for your 2004 Acura TL or MDX navigation system (DVD version 3.40). Periodically Acura releases updates containing "points of interest" and updated street information due to new constructoin and other geographical changes. This update provides these enhancements to the system's mapping and information system.

At your convenience, install the DVD and then continue to use your Navigation system. Loading instructions are included wiht the DVD's case. Additional information is available in your vehicle's navigation system owner's manual.

This one time update is provided to a select number of our Acura family to thank you for driving an Acura. Enjoy your journey!

Sincerely,

American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Acura Automobile Division

Hey! Can you scan the actual letter that came with the disc? OR perhaps fax me a copy? I talked to a rep at Acura who said if I could send him a copy of the letter, he would see about helping me out. Any names, phone #'s etc. on the letter, Reference #'s???

A few other people on this board got the same response from reps.

Thanks!

With a little cutting/pasting, etc. I could probably eliminate the word "select" from the copy of the letter before I fax it over to Acura

Anybody have any kind of corresp. from Acura? With their letterhead and the contents of the letter that were put on this board, we could make our own copy of the letter to send.

By the way - how was the letter addressed? With your name, etc. or just a "Dear Customer" type of thing?

What's really a pain in the ass is having to do that when you stall out your 6MT.

That's something Acura needs to fix on MT cars.

How often do you stall your car? All my cars are manual and I can't remember the last time I stalled one. No offense, but I would be more worried about what you're doing to stall the car rather than the navi getting reset...

The letter had my name and (IIRC) my VIN. If I still have it, and if I have time this weekend, I'll scan it. I have little time to devote to it this week as I'm pretty busy at work.
