Tape player stopped working
Tape player stopped working
I have a 2004 base TL and the other day my tape player stopped working. I was wondering if i should buy a new OEM tape player/cd changer, or would it be better to purchase and install iSimple? Everything else works, and the only reason I use my tape player is for an AUX cord for my iPhone. I researched and found they are about the same price, so it comes down to installation. What would be the easier/better choice?
^depends on you!
and what you want to accomplish with your audio source.
both options need the center console ripped out to install.
So, what are your goals?
would you like a more integrated system?
or are you content with the tape player aux?
would you like to control your ipod through your steering wheel and have the song titles display in the radio stack above the a/c?
or are you content with switching songs from your iphone?

I dont really care if my tape player works, so im kinda leaning toward the iSpimple. How hard is it to install if I do it myslelf? I'm not super electronically incline FYI haha
1 vote for a USA Spec PA15- HON 3 (as I have one) and then use the RCA Aux ports to include a Bluetooth receiver for the iPhone. iSimple is popular here as well, but it's your choice.
I wouldn't waste ANY money getting the tape deck repaired or replaced, but that's just my opinion.
By the way, either the USA Spec or iSimple are plug and play units, but you have to take some of the interior/ console apart to install it properly (which is all very easy).
