System install question

I'm wanting to finally install my system in my car. When I called a local place here they told me the Type-S audio systems have 2 microphones in the car that actively level the sound. They would need to disconnect those or else my sub would sound horrible.

Does anyone know anything about this before I let them disconnect something that shouldn't be messed with?

Im thinking if they Disconnect these your HFL wont work either... Good Question but i doubt it. Many Acurazine members have installed their own subs without disconnecting your Mics in the car.

That's what I was thinking. That was the only shop that mentioned having to disconnect something. He said they did an install on someone else's Type-S and they blew 2 subs because the mics adjusts it too low...whatever that means...

I just spoke with a reputable shop in town and he said Honda did their systems like that for a limited run and the only car he saw that on was the last generation Honda Prelude SH. I think I'll just take it to him, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has come across this issue.

He is referring to the Active Noise Cancellation system. I just had to deal with it over the weekend. I had my amp/sub installed and it worked fine, however at idle the sub would give a loud hum. It was the noise cancellation system using the sub which you don't want. I found the thread about it, disconnected the rear mic only and it took care of the problem immediately.

I have an 07 TL-S so you will probably get the same issue once it is hooked up. Took all of 5 mins to resolve.
